šŸ›‘ TorBox Changes Their Terms of Service & Users Aren't Happy

Hey everyone, I don’t post much so I didn’t know how to make a comment without replying to a comment. Was wondering if anyone can help me understand something. Maybe I’m slow, however what’s the difference between torbox terms and conditions and real debrid 's? If I’m hearing correctly both store your logs and both could possibly hand your logs over to law enforcement if asked. So out of curiosity why is real debrid still on the favorites when it comes to the debrid services, but not torbox? I truly don’t see the difference. Lastly, if a person is not uploading or downloading and are just using TB or RD for streaming, in reality what’s the worst thing that’s going to happen? I don’t think that I would get a knock on my door because I’m only streaming. I think I may have overreacted when I got the news when I deleted my TB account. Because I’m not happy with premiumize noone told me about the fair use points and I pay the year in advance so that’s going to be frustrating. I think I might get TB back. Any response will be greatly appreciated thanks!

I was once also confused on how to respond to the thread or responding to a comment. The arrow circled is how to respond to the thread. I’m only really responding because your name is Cranjis, Cranjis Mcbasketball.

Thanks! Lol And you caught the name. Lol awesome!

Thanks @JerryJ. I also use Kodi and I think I found the cloud things you are refering to, albeit on a different addon.

There are two items referring to cloud in the Debrid Accounts section of the Settings.

One states ā€œStore resolved items in cloudā€ and the second one states ā€œEnable cloud scraperā€

I have always had these options turned off but it may have been more by chance than by choice.

If there is anything else you find I greatly appreciate your knowledge and feedback.

Hey @Cranjis I see you randomly responded to one of my posts because you were not sure how to reply to someone. That’s okay it happens a lot at The Insider  BUT the post right below yours from @dclutchb correctly showed you how to do it so you should be good to go going forward!

Now since you did reply to me about Real Debrid and Torbox I will give you my take. I do not know the difference in their TOS. I will tell you I used RD for at least 6 years and it was Flawless. I only moved to torbox because of the recent operational hiccups with RD

As far as the recent change with Torbox changing their TOS? I will say I don’t give a rat’s A$$ about that and that so many dumping their accounts here is a huge over reaction IMO. I’ve never heard of anybody being busted from using a premium debrid service. I’m keeping my account and Torbox is working better than ever. BUT I’m not overly paranoid either so you gotta do you. Just my 2 cents

Premiumize fair use policy limits you to 1000GBs and you get a 30GB top up every day. I stream constantly and have never used over 5%. But then I look for the best compression like HEVC and 265 which are smaller while still providing a quality picture. You can also pay for a 1000GB top up which is like a reserve tank with extra GBs as needed. All of this is explained in their help section of your dashboard. I should have mentioned if you do the math you will see that 1% is 10GBs. So limiting the size of sources scraped in your addons can help you never to use your fair use amount up. If you do major downloading then certainly PM isn’t your best choice, but for the average streamer it certainly should be enough. I got a 3 yr black friday sub for just $130 so keep your eye out for specials.

Since the mess that is Torbox has happened, I disabled it in all my configurations. That leaves only Cinemeta, Premiumize, Real Debrid, Comet, Media Fusion, Debrido, and Duck Tools as major addons in Streimo, Nuvio, and Strmr. (Not counting Kodi at the moment.) I have had less ā€œinstantā€ streams available since doing this. (Everything says it’s not available or has to download and check back later.) Is it possible, I have messed up somewhere with the others as to why I am getting hardly anything? Do I maybe need to wipeout and reconfigure my 3 main apps? I haven’t noticed anyone else mention what I am going through. I do have subscriptions.

Thanks.

Well you show 2 debrid services but note them as seperate from your addons. The debrid services should be added in your addons

Sorry, my mistake. I configured Torrentio, Comet, MediaFusion, Debrido, and I think Duck Streams, with Premiumize. (I left my Real Debrid lapse and have to re-up.) All the addons show each with -PM behind them in all three apps. And I went through all of the settings (size, res, language, etc.) before creating a URL link. I misspoke about Debrido: not really a Debrid service.

Make sure, when configuring your addons, that you also select cached only.

Will check. Think I did. Am I missing or messed up the link to Premiumize somewhere else?

This is what I see in Premiumize: ā€œSimply enter the pairing code from the app to connect it. You can also review and manage which apps and websites have access to your accountā€

Could this be what I am missing? If so how should I go about adding it.

Thanks

Pairing? Not for either Nuvio or Stremio. Each addon has it’s own configuration panel where you select your debrid service and add your API key.

Ok, I thought so. Added the API key each time I added/created and addon. Thought I was going down a rabbit hole. I will double check the cache settings.

Following Troy’s tutorials are great, step-by-step, but if you somehow go off later on to change things, you tend to feel lost.

Thanks for your input and help.

Oh for sure but after a few times doing it you’ll get the hang of it.

I’m riding with Solo Warrior on this one. I’m sticking with TorBox—I’m not overly worried about anyone coming after me. I’m definitely not a power user when it comes to Nuvio or Stremio. I primarily watch live TV through my IPTV provider. I followed Troy’s videos for setting up Nuvio / Stremio with Debridio and everything was set up perfectly, so I don’t want to start poking around and accidentally screw something up.

My wife and kids still need to use Netflix, too. :joy: My little brain just can’t keep track of all the settings and all the changes that are constantly happening in this hobby.

Me too. I am trying out Off Cloud for a month just in case TB deletes cached content like RD. So far its pretty solid, just can’t share with family or I will hit 1TB limit.

I’ve been using Premiumize for about 2 years now after RD quit working at all. Have had some issues with Premiumize working here in Costa Rica. When Torbox came out I did sign up and it worked beautifully from May until last week now they say they have been hacked, major service failures and now nothing at all. I held on to my Premiumize account just to make sure TB was going to be stable. I did sign up for OC last night and redid my add-ons add both Prem and OC. Hopefully this one will stay working

Torbox is working flawlessly for me

On August 19, users of TorBox, a cloud-based debrid service and download platform, experienced significant disruptions, prompting many to express their frustrations on social media. The company’s status page confirmed that ā€œSome services are down,ā€ indicating ongoing issues with their Application Programming Interface (API) and Content Delivery Network (CDN). These components are crucial for the platform’s functionality, as the API facilitates data exchange between software applications, while the CDN ensures that static web content is delivered efficiently to users. The hacker attack began on the 18th targetting the servers.

It’s mostly back up as of the 21st at 10AM but not fully for some.

Interesting. I use Torbox everyday and never had any issues or loss of service. Watching a baseball game and after an inning just tested a few shows on KODI Umbrella addon with Torbox.

Many playable streams
