Do u record anything to keep???

If so what is ur process

I can’t get a good recording on anything with my shield

I never keep my recordings either. I got to have a recording because when I was with DirecTV I didn’t watch the movie channels cuz there’s always repeats, so watch movies off of broadcast cuz they’re better. So I recorded it so I won’t have to watch the commercials. Now I record news, automotive sports, especially Mecum Auto auctions you have 3 hours of a guy running his mouth and the car is running through. I just want to look at the cars so I fast forward and just look at the cars and move on. That’s the rationale for recording.

You must be having a Kodi moment! LOL :sweat_smile::sweat_smile::sweat_smile:

Miki, I think we have the same iptv service and nothing shows up on the Olympic channels. really disappointed. I do have a hit or miss in recordings for TM. I’m trying sparkle to see if it’s different. I wonder why you show programming on your Olympic channels but mine are blank

My IPTV gave me Olympic channels in Astros, Europe sport at UK and another country. However they didn’t give me any EPG so it’s very hard to chase something down you want to watch. NBC, channel E! Have some Olympics on it.

Buy a new or used Amazon kindle. It will work for you to get the app or any other android device.

Your right on mine on a onn4k pro box it just buffers on Tivimate and wont even attempt to play but plays perfectly using sparkle using the exact same iptv service

I agree, Sparkle doesn’t work. Impossible to watch. Cant get it to stop freezing long enough to set up a recording. Unacceptable. I tried it when it first came out and it was impossible. It’s still impossible. And yes, I did all the comparative work, all the googling, all the searching for answers, all the rebooting, all the deleting and reinstalling and all of the going through the program searching for a button i might have missed that would fix it.

I have had Tivimate forever. I bought it years ago. Finally got tired of recordings becoming corrupt 50% of the time, though. Unreliable recordings but I can watch it live all day long without a problem. Beautiful picture, perfect audio. Better than the IPTV app provided by my IPTV provider, just unreliable recording.

Decided to see what else is out here. I downloaded sparkle, set it up and it’s unwatchable. Spinning spinning, freeze. Never got to recording, could not get it to stop spinning long enough to test it. Deleted that. Then I downloaded SmartersiptvPro. A little spinning, half a second or so throughout watching. Irritating but watchable. Recording requires some hoops and if it wasn’t glitching I’d have taken the time and patience to figure that out, but the glitching was the deal killer since Tivimate has none.

So, Went back to run Tivimate again. Not a blink or spin. Smooth as silk. Except it has 50% fail rate on recordings. Even with that it’s better than the other two.

So, I’m staying mwith Tivimate. Even with the lack of owner’s support (if that’s even a thing) it’s better than the other two, at least I get half of what I record and without jumping through the hoops or constantly trying to bring it out of a freeze.

The latest update has done a lot of work on the recording issue and supposedly has fixed it. I don’t record but give it a try.

Update: Just saw on Reddit that there’s a fake Sparkle in Google Play. In my efforts I must have got them. I used the chat in that app and got hold of them to find out why their app wasn’t accepting my IPTV’s links. They told me they only accept their own links. $40 a month for their link or $50 a year. I said I just wanted Sparkle and pay for that and use my own links. They said they didn’t do that. Suspicion grabbed me and I deleted the app. Then At sparkle .com they had a notice that the app was free. So went into the account I’d created a couple years ago and it welcomed me back. I then clicked on the sign up button for free sparkle. It said put this number in the screen, as I’m used to doing. Then I downloaded the sparkle app off the tool box. It never came up with anything anywhere to put the code in. I then did research in Sparkle itself and found out they are in trouble in Europe, I think it is. They’ve shut down a bunch of what they do in the app to comply with Euro authorities. I’m thinking they just might not be accepting new users anymore because I never found an app that worked using my own IPTV links. I’ve given up and accepted Tivimate as imperfect and living with it because even in its imperfect state it beats the heck out of sparkle’s current iteration or anything else out there.

But I did want to express my appreciation to those who offered suggestions. Thank you.

Thank you for responding, but one of the many problems I’ve had with Sparkle is it won’t stop circling and freezing long enough to set up a recording. :slightly_smiling_face:

Never a moment’s issue with TiVimate for me. Even records what I want, when I want for as long as I want. Even daily recordings if I ever did record anything.

I’m watching my Sparkle Plus right now, no buffering at all…sorry your having probz, but itz working great for me…

I could be wrong but I don’t think buffering is caused by ANY IPTV player. It’s a function of your setup or IPTV service. The player is just a conduit a shell.

How does one get variety of epg’s ???
