Tivimate vs Sparkle iptv player and the cheap alibaba iptv

has anyone else noticed that when the alibaba iptv stream buffers in tivimate that the exact same stream does not buffer in the sparkle player? i thought i was just having stream issues but no!
i streamed the nfl games last weekend with my cheap alibaba service and as usual it started buffering so i switched to my main service…then i thought how about i switch to the sparkle player…dang!! no buffering…switched back to tivimate…mucho buffering…switched back to sparkle…no buffering…i’m like…wtf!!..so i kept doing it all afternoon…alibaba cheap iptv service…tivimate=buffering…sparkle=no buffering…am i crazy or on to something? if you guy’s can test this theory i’d appreciate your thought’s.

I have suspected a bug issue with
Tivimate for a little while now and mine
Will sometimes hesitate severely and or
Lockup for 10-20 seconds.

i suspect that tivimate needs to be updated and the guy that owns Sparkle is very aggressive with updates…i suspect the dev of tivimate has gotten a lil lazy…how does the same stream buffer in one player but not the other? update update update

I’ve not had issues. The only thing I can think of is if you’ve gone over the 5 device limit. I have had some wrong info in the EPG but that was the supplier.

@ Miki
have you tried the cheap alibaba on both iptv players? i remember you complaining about the buffering on the cheap alibaba iptv so you wouldn’t use it anymore?

buffers on tivimate but not on sparkle? have you actually tested that? i have and sparkle is buffer free on the cheap alibaba while tivimate buffers like crazy
i actually tested it…did you?

Oh no it wasn’t a buffering issue. It was their darn 10 yr old server causing never ending issues. Load the service and spend 6 hrs configuring channels and improving their lame EPG only to have the service gone overnight along with all my configuration. Reload and do it all over again. Did this for 6 straight days with nothing but excuses from Amber. The Baba service is just pure garbage IMHO.

in tivimate try this just because :joy: >>>settings>>>playback, while here make sure audio and video are set to hardware.>>>one option to try is auto frame rate on or off(mine is off)>>>go back to playlist, click one>>>extreme code parameters>>>Output format…most likely its on mpeg, try hls or vice versa and see if that helps…otherwise…

ya all my playlists are switched from MPEG-TS to HLS. I also have hardware on vid and audio and AFR off, but on the Shield Pro I do have the Match Frame Rate beta active.

its a tough one. My channels dvr prefers hls, other players mpeg…I believe theres a conversion on some devices🥴

i’m trying to figure out what any of this has to do with my original thread? has anyone tested the cheap alibaba for buffering on tivimate vs sparkle? i think you guy’s hijacked my thread? i just want to know if anyone else has observed this? please don’t hijack my original premise…dang!

If anyone is getting buffering on the cheap alibaba iptv using tivimate for nfl and nba? try using the same source on the sparkle iptv player…no buffering…i want to discuss this and please don’t hijack this thread
thx

I have tried it on the cheap Alibaba crap, but did notice when I added Sparkle TV just to see what it was like I did notice that channels loaded faster. I still use Tivimate though as using Sparkle is like taking 10 steps back compared to Tivimate.

thx for the reply
for sure on my main iptv source it’s extremely solid…i got amber for like 18US a yr and it buffered in tivimate ?
i loaded the same xtreme code in sparkle and no buffering? why are peep’s discounting this with out actually testing it?
i don’t want to go ahole but no one that is posting has actually tested it?

Is Sparkle customizable like TiViMate?

Apologies if I stray a bit off of your topic….
I haven’t used alibaba iptv and have no desire to but I do have some experience with tivimate and the sparkle player on 3 devices I’m currently using….firecube v2, onn box v1 and v2.
Sparkle player is incompatible with my firecube v2, it continually crashes back to cubes home screen……the developer is aware of this longstanding problem but hasn’t figured it out yet, says he has no access to a cube to troubleshoot the problem🤔
Sparkle player works fine on both onn boxes and it’s my go to player on them due to the dvr feature which works flawlessly, it’s not as user friendly or polished as tivimate but the developer continues to incorporate user feedback within his frequent updates therefore I’ll continue to support it.
As to buffering I’ve not noticed any difference when switching between the two players with the services I have.
FWIW I’d pay double for a Tivimate DVD version :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Yes, to some degree, but not nearly as much as Tivimate allows.

He doesn’t have access to a Cube? I use Michael Wu’s service on Tivimate and it plays perfect. I don’t use Sparkle as Tivi much better.

i agree that right now tivimate is better than sparkle but sparkles dvr function is better than tivimate, also tivimate needs an update as a stream that buffers on tivimate doesn’t buffer on sparkle? and the dev that owns sparkle is aggresive about updating it,won’t be long before it’s every bit as good as tivimate IMO

Both apps will have their personal advocates. It really doesn’t matter which you use, as long as it works for you, that’s all that matters. These posts of this vs. that or this is better than that are irrelevant as we each have differing points of views, needs, devices, locations, suppliers ad nauseum. It will always be that way. Enjoy this hobby and the experimentation that goes along with it. It’s exciting.

The ALIBABA service Troy recommended plays perfectly on Tivimate surprised it’s been doing so well and even the international channels play clearly as well so never had a reason to try another player
