Unfortunately, there haven’t been any substantial TiviMate updates in a long time. The last update was 5.2.0 in August of 2025 and here’s the change-log from that.
Official description: Fixes and improvements.
User-reported changes (from Reddit discussions):
New Auto Frame Rate (AFR) options: Enable separately for Live TV and VOD, automatic
Refresh rate switching with configurable delay, and “Switch rate for 50/60 FPS only”.
Automatic screen resolution switching.
Audio passthrough support (e.g., Dolby/DTS to receiver/soundbar).
Tunneled playback for smoother/stabler playback on supported devices.
Translation fixes.
New channel options in menu view.
General performance/snappiness improvements.
Curious to hear what your feature wish-list is if/when the developer improves the application.
Here is my TiviMate wish-list.
Yes, I know that some IPTV apps offer these features but the one thing that I really like about TiviMate is the user interface. It’s simple to use.
Rewind live TV (time-shift) Sparkle TV does this but I don’t like the UI as much as TiviMate
Ability to login or sync quickly and everything is there, just like Stremio I believe that this is how Premium iMPlayer works. Whatever changes you make in the app apply to all devices where your TiviMate is installed.
Allow for more than 5 devices within lifetime account. I’m OK paying for more devices but let me have all of them under the same account. As it stands, you must create multiple lifetime accounts to get more than 5 devices.
We have a ton of TiviMate fans in this group and I’m curious to hear other features or fixes that you would like to see implemented? Maybe this will get the attention of the developer or spur someone to develop an app with the same UI and address what users want.
I love being able to change to VLC player, but it causes too many glitch issues using it so my biggest thing for the wish list is to have VLC internally installed, not only for the TiviMate app but for iMPlayer as well. Although you can switch to it in both to the VLC Player it is crazy bad in iMPlayer as it takes you fully outside the app, then have to fight to get back in to the app. TiviMate isn’t as bad, but it causes issues with functionality to use it, & it’s still a fight to get the codec info to pull up most often. I love VLC player for the ability to pull up information you can’t normally see such as video codec being used, & also it’s overall picture quality it provides. Although both use the Exo Player internally iMPlayer wins for me hands down on overall picture quality it provides. I do miss MOL3 for it’s overall workability & it’s VLC internal player. Just hitting the info button twice on it while watching full screen it pulls up codec/resolution/audio being played on the fly. It may be just me but I love these features. I know some of this is off topic, but the comparisons are real. I got the premium for iMPlayer & like it really well, but it does have some buffering troubles at times, more so than TiviMate. I would love to see TiviMate add the extra slot to the left to enable far better playlist access like MOL3 has. Yes, you can collapse the playlists your not using but that extra left list was so much more usable & I would really love to see that included in TiviMate besides the VLC tuner being installed internally, not externally accessed. I have also had an annoying problem with TiviMate not showing my playlists when I go to it, just shows blank without anything there. This happens in my AM9 on droid 14 as well as my Formuler with 11 in it. Something needs fixed for that problem. I have even had to force stop, clear the cache then go back in to it in order to show my playlists.
I would like to see a better setup for searching. To be more precise, when searching for EPG info I would like to see any results be for channels that are ones I’ve chosen to add to my own groups I have created, instead of search through thousands upon thousands of channels. I would also like to see channels removed from my searches from groups and countries that I have removed from my subs. Same goes for updating. I would like to see update EPGs only for channels or groups that I have active from my master Playlists.
I don’t hold much hope for tivimate to add new features. That is why I am excited for the xmplayer project. Currently supporting browsers. Windows coming mid this month. Mac and linux very soon too. Android soon to follow sync favorites and playlist to the cloud. https://xmplayer.app/
Without a doubt timeshift! It’s the one glaring feature missing from tivimate. Also agree with miki about an improved search feature. Perhaps a little eye candy different themes for the epg etc.
One of the reasons I like using Emby. I setup my iptv etc on my server(mini pc) and that content is avaliable to all tv’s, tablets etc on my local network.
@MikeN ….i’m am almost positve yes on that…. @TXRon explained his set up awhile back…but i’m sure he will jump in here and correct me if i’m wrong, and maybe explain his set up. i still have it, i just never set it all up, but that time is near…. and wouldn’t post it without his ok….
Looks interesting. Will test it out when the droid is released. One question I do have, is when the 'droid gets released can I do my config on my tablet as I don’t use a computer, same as Stremio? If so that’s huge for me. I’m thinking it will as the config is stored in the cloud same as Stremio.
I’d like to see TiviMate be more user friendly recording network channels. I cannot record late-night programs with TiviMate due to what AI calls “messy streams, bitrate jumps, discontinuity tags, and audio changes. I’ve made all the necessary changes that AI suggests in “Settings, Playback,” such as enabling the Amlogic Fix, but nothing works.
I understand that the Amlogic Chipset in my Fire TV Cube, 2nd gen, is part of the problem, but I think that TiviMate could work around that. I’ve recorded some late-night programs in the past, but I can’t schedule one now and get it working. I think part of that may be due to my blocking Amazon updates following Troypoint’s tutorial on how to do that. I’m not sure.
I do have several gigs of recorded programs dating back to April, and I can record anything but network programs. AI recommends a separate app called, OTT Navigator, for recording, and I plan to investigate it further.
This was my thought as well, in addition to the features that Troy is requesting above. Since I have started here, a huge complaint about Tivimate is its inconsistent recording. I don’t know what the fix is for it, but making it better would go a long way with the peeps that record. That being said, Tivimate is still by far the best IPTV player out there, adding all of these features/fixes would make Tivimate unstoppable. I would guess the developer may raise prices too after adding/fixing them, but would be so worth the investment.
Been watching the development of an app that’s still a bit early for me to try but looks very interesting, I’d love to see Tivimate go down this road. It’s mixing the best of both worlds into one app, an iptv app but also switches to perform the same things as say Stremio, Syncler or Weyd type app with full Debrid integration, Trakt and what not.
As soon as I can get the app to look at the settings I will. Not sure but are those instructions for a laptop or computer? If so they’re quite useless to me as I have neither as I mentioned.
Ahh ok. The app for Android is upcoming but for now a browser can be used on my tab. Unfortunately the web app won’t open for me, even using my google account.
