Although I need TeaTV like I need another headache, I thought I’b give it a whirl this afternoon.
Here’s what I found:
-Going to TeaTV,n$$ ($$=et) via the Downloader browser, as per TP instructions, lands in a place where a very obtrusive video popup acquires. Trying Silk, the same deal, except with Silk it was easier to back out of that page into the TeaTV spot.
-I installed TeaTV & integrated RD & Trakt, no problem. I go to test out a stream & a verification QR code is presented. I ignore it & try to play a link. I click on my link and a popup encouraging me to install “tplayer” shows up.
-I ignore the tplayer, click on the link, let it load. The play options pop up. I select ‘play with subtitles’ on about 5 RD links. Nothing plays after selecting play with subtitles. I try the same but without subtitles…still no joy.
-None of the links I selected gave me an option to use MX or VLC or Kodi as a player.
-I bite the bullet & install tplayer. Same results. Nothing plays.
At this point the “prove not robot QR code” seems to be the way to go.
So scan it with my phone.
The link takes me to a page wanting email, password and a CREDIT CARD NUMBER!!! EEEEK…
Not doing that.
Now I uninstall TeaTV and find the apk on unlinked. I install it. No account set-up or verification is required.
Now I get links to play with an internal player, but there’s no way of including Open Subtitles.
Now here’s the problem with that: The screen that appears when selecting an external player only can visibly show three options. I cannot find a way to scroll down to access MX or VLC.
Based on today, TeaTV is not going down as one of my favs.
Yeah…
I just like to try new stuff.
I can see why someone would like TeaTV if they can access the player of their choice.
The only choices that I could select from were ES Explorer, ES Player & Kodi. I like Kodi as a player, but (ya know) why don’t I just use an addon at that point?
The problem is that the pop-up that allows you to pick an external player only displays 3 choices and the bare top of a 4th choice…but I can’t figure out how to scroll down in that field.
I guess I could try uninstalling ES Explorer, because that occupies 2 of the choices.
Oh ya hmmm This has been discussed before and there was a solution but I don’t remember what it was. It was a few months ago. Maybe search and see if you can find the thread.
TeaTV is a good service . However, it’s mandatory to install the “Titan Player”. It won’t play any streams without it. The credit card thing is bizarre. I’ve never seen that before. I recommend giving the " Film + " app a try . It has a built in video player. External.video players are optional . I hope this helps . Pete
I didn’t try the mouse toggle, because I didn’t think about it.
I did uninstall ES File explorer.
That allowed me to see Kodi, MX & VLC.
So now I’m able to try TeaTV on for size. I D/L’d the ad free version from unlinked.
I would not suggest that anyone use a browser to install at all.
TeaTV seems to access a lot of non-debrid links. It may be a good choice for the people who don’t want to use a debrid service.
I’ve seen this comment many times, so for the 3rd time I have installed TeaTV and this time on the ONN. I opened it up, refused the titan player install, went to a movie, clicked watch now on the top left, chose a stream and clicked on it, and immediately I get the following
I click on MX and it plays perfectly. So this is my 3rd time and every time it works. This is with the ad free mod as well. So no idea why it doesn’t work for you.
Done on 4k Max and ONN
That works, for sure, Miki on the non-RD links that populate the list.
What’s happening is that empty RD links appear, and those don’t play.
Some of the ‘free’ links will allow subtitles (embedded or opensub) but most that I’ve tried won’t.
When sampling RD links that don’t show zero, all those have subtitles one way or another.
MX player to the rescue
I always install MX player pro & VCL on every box I customize . Both are available in the Rapid App Installer and use minimal space
Thanks for sharing that info Miki Pete
Ya this wasn’t about links, it was about the external player. I’m not going to bother authorizing my RD yet again as frankly I use Stremio and nothing else for movies and series without problems. I’m not entirely sure what is going on with RD as lately there have even been links displayed that aren’t even for the one I picked. But I read every link for accuracy to save me a headache.
Tea TV used to be the best until they started with the ads and the TPlayer requirement (which also has ads). I’ve stopped using it. Bee TV is essentially the same and can be set up to use an external player with RD.
With TeaTV, there are almost NEVER any Real Debrid links. How can that be, and how can there be such huge differences observed by users of the same APK?
