Many thanks to all the testers that provided invaluable feedback. So far, I can confirm the app will block ads in:
Cinema HD
Filmplus
BeeTV
Rumble
RBTV77
Roku Channel
Analiti (speed test app)
TheTVApp (blocked channels can now be accessed without vpn)
Essentially any app that makes requests to AD-domains should now show zero ads.
Apps with baked-in ads will still continue to show ads.
I have also had multiple reports of improved buffering/performance in IPTV apps.
The app does not interfere with your VPN. You can connect to any VPN provider and still use the encrypted DNS server you have selected in the app.
As mentioned before, the app will cost 1.99 and its a lifetime license for unlimited devices - doesn’t matter if you have 4 Android TV devices or 14 - a single 1.99 license will cover all of them. You will get lifetime updates.
A polite request from me is if you do decide to purchase the app - could you please leave a review? This will greatly help the streaming community and also help me.
I only have my Samsung phone, tablet, pixel tablet, Shield Pro. And the only things I use for payments are my Phone and Pixel Tablet. Neither of which are compatible with your app Doc.
I tried to buy it on my Nvidia but i couldn’t log into my account for some reason. So i went to my Onn 4k pro and was able to log in and buy it. Then i went back and installed on the Nvidia.
@TechDoctorUK may may mentioned this but make sure you are in developer mode and have debugging activated.
@JPM69 I also downloaded the tduk dns app from Google play store but don’t know how to keep it running after exiting the program. But I’m as dumb as they come when it comes to technology. I hope TDUK will post a video tutorial because I am % lost
Hi @TechDoctorUK
I purchased your new application on Google play store. I didn’t see any tutorial guide on how to setup and use… I have the onn 4k pro android tv box. I’m using surfshark vpn. I went to your YouTube channel to see if you had posted anything there but didn’t find anything yet. Thanks in advance
Indeed, I was confused about exiting the app too but TDUK said that’s normal. To see if it’s actually activated I open Rumble and start any stream and am greeted with no ad!
I will be creating a tutorial video on this but the main thing to understand is that my app makes a system change on your device to force it to use encrypted DNS.
Once my app has made that change (i.e when you have clicked on Start using encrypted DNS server), you don’t need to keep my app running or remain “connected” after that.
The only time you need to open my app again is if:
You want to change to a different encrypted DNS server
You want to stop using encrypted DNS
You want to test to see which DNS servers your device is using.
Otherwise, you can continue using your device as normal but with the benefit of using these encrypted DNS servers.
Even if you connect to your VPN, it won’t override which DNS server you use.
