Had issues of surfshark again. Wire guard on Los Angeles servers quit. Had to use ikev2 protocol.
I’m on an Express trial right now, got tired of fighting to get connections, one of my services would only work on a few servers and would have to switch frequently and kill switch never worked on my streaming devices.
They have excellent customer service try giving them a call. I have it on all my laptops phones and media boxes and never had a problem have for a year or more. Give them a call explain your problem sure they will help you out with your problems.
Never had issues with Surfshark, I’ve had it for almost a year!
Hello @AJS1 I just tried connecting to Los Angeles on Surfshark via WireGuard with my Fire TV Stick 4K Max and it works fine. I am using app version 3.0.1.1.
I would suggest rebooting your router.
I had some problems with Surfshark getting around Netflix geo-blocks a few weeks ago and pulled my hair out trying to figure out what was wrong. As soon as I rebooted router, everything worked as it should.
I’m having the same problem. One service will only work on a few SS servers. Another service works on numerous servers. Must be something with the provider. Talked to them and they know it’s a problem but have not been able to figure a workaround. Looks like the provider is being blocked on many servers.
If your on a router try switching dns servers. Often this works for me.
Unfortunately it’s an Optimum router…
Surfshark already had me change my DNS protocols it helped the last time I had problems with it. Also San Diego I cannot use wire guard on San Diego anymore either. I’ll try rebooting the router tonight when I don’t need it, it’s an AT&t router modem and surfsharks is aware their issues w (at&t).
Wireguard started working in San Diego server without having to reboot my router / modem. This happens from time to time where I need to turn on and off surfshark few times maybe three four times to get the connection with the server again
Also onsite Surfshark connections, if you do a google search there is Captcha storm. It can last 10 successive images to clear. Just frustrating.
have you turned on clean web?
Yes, clean web is on. I am wondering if the LA Surfshark ports are just so overloaded that little tweeks are being added to decrease the number of connections?
The little tweaks are probally just over loaded servers. Have you tried connecting to Phoenix or Las Vegas? I always get good connections there.
Yes, i’ve tried virtually every US city and I get 40-60mb at best. Whenever any vpn is off I get over 300mb.
What app do you use to test your speed?
40-60 should stream well?
In my case I can only stream 720P thru stremio, Kodi, or VOD. However through my IPTV service I can stream 1080p without any problems.
I still buffer a fair amount with my iptv and cinema app movies. Can’t get 4k ever for more than a minute without buffering. But I am paying the internet provider for 300-500mb The Surfshark drops are really huge and if it gets worse it is not worth using–I will try another vpn.
analiti and an app test netspeed.
