Surfshark on Fire Stick - Amazon Prime is blocking

Oh ya they’re working on it. But doesn’t matter to me. I cancelled my sub, no more SS. I’d return a brand new vehicle for a full refund if I took it for a test ride and found stuff doesn’t work as well as advertised. I bought it to use it, not to help troubleshoot it. If in say 6 mths, things are better, I may renew then. From my 4 hrs with tech support they assured me this is top priority for them and they are focusing their resources to correct it. I hope for everyone’s sake it doesn’t take long. I loved the kill switch that was my main reason for buying, and the interface is clean and simple and their site is like Troy’s an amazing resource but for all things VPN.

Glad I read this. I just updated apps through Play and this wasn’t one of them. I uninstalled version I was running and downloaded update through RAI. Thanks for the heads up @TROYPOINT

I hear ya Miki. I’m the same way. I paid for a service it better work. I understand minor settings etc but I have that same issue with buzztv. Thankfully I do not have to rely on it for my streaming or I would be out big time.

I think we are jumping to conclusions without hearing them out and letting them quickly take care of these small issues. This is a fantastic VPN with great features, this Amazon issue is small in my eyes. Im waiting it out.

It’s a non-issue for myself. I browse amazon all the time on my desktop and nothing for me has changed, I believe the issue is device related with what appears android devices as Dracula eluded to earlier. Surfshark is a great vpn and will work it out…and then maybe they can go over and fix the buzztv boxes :joy:

Guys, I commented on this earlier…I’ve already sent them a video on this problem with Amazon. They patched the NVIDIA SHIELD split tunneling problem in a day so hopefully that will be the case for this as well.

I’m going to keep testing. It’s been a little intermittent today but at least I still have IP Vanish as a backup if I get frustrated (or if the wife is wondering what’s going on!) Hopefully SS can get this figured out soon.

I agree, i think people are jumping the gun way to fast without waiting for a responce or update. Things take some time. People have super high expectations out of the box. Coding apps for android tv, mobile and fireos take extra time for them to work properly.

Amazon Prime is working on all of my main boxes when Bypassing it in SS. Shield Pro, KM6 Deluxe (2), FireTV Max. All of the Amazon.com issues that I had yesterday on PC are gone, and I even changed back to Wireguard Protocol.

My Nord VPN expires in November. How do you guys like Surfshark? I’m looking for a VPN that I can leave on all the time on my desktop computer without problems. I’m using Windows 10. Thanks guys.

I’m pretty new to Surfshark, so time will tell, but I have been impressed so far. All of my Fire/Android boxes, my PC, even worked well on my phone. Reminder that they do offer a 30-day money back guarantee. Would be a nice way to see how well it worked on your system.

See, major issues like that take priority. However dont be surprised if geo unblocking becomes unsuccessful. Its something these elites really trying to nail down. Im working on something in my off time.

There seems to be a problem with the automatic. They also told me to take off auto, and use straight wirequard selection. That solved the problem, this was with firestick too

I found that open vpn speeds are only 18 mbps, while wireguard is 100mbps. Is there something we can do with open vpn for better download speed?

Hello @T83 try changing from TPC to UDP or vice versa.

I did both Troy, and different locations 16-18 mbps. I know you lose half ur speed but 18? Now when using ip vanish speeds were faster using open vpn than wireguard

Then use wireguard? Use the fastest protocol. Some of these protocols dont work well with some modem configurations and secuirty options like wpa2 and what not

Have you gone through the different servers new where you live and test the speed on each of those? Also, why don’t you want to use Wireguard?

I am , I’m just trying to figure out how some are using open vpn which they say is correcting their problems. I’d like to know what their download speeds are
