they should launch dedicated servers ![]()
Wish they would concentrate on current issues and fix them
More like Dedicated Payment. They should be more "dedicated to fixing their bugs!

“…select Dedicated IP and click Upgrade to input your payment.”
Totally Agree
Not a day goes by that Ss isn’t causing issues
Can ss dedicated ip be used from multiple devices at the same time?
Regarding shared IP addresses and speed. I am getting a download drop from about 300 mbs to 60-70mbs when Surfshark is on. Is that due to shared IP addresses and will the dedicated IP address fix this?
Surfshark has a lot of issues of late and they don’t seem to be addressing them in a timely manner.
I added dedicated ip to my ss. It eliminated all the captcha verification garbage in chrome and I now only have one app that gives me issues instead of a handful I had before. Speed wize it doesn’t seem to be any different than any of the other VPN locations on the list, but I wouldn’t expect it to be. Not sure the extra 3 something dollars a month is really worth it but whatever I did it anyway.
I had issues when installing the dedicated ip on my Windoze desktop. It would not give me a dedicated address to launch. I shut down SS and restarted several times, but no dice. Finally rebooted the computer and viola, my dedicated address showed up after SS auto launched. The other issue is that no United States - Los Angeles location was offered. I selected United States, and was issued a NYC address. I was told that the LA IP’s were sold out. Seems to work fine on my Windoze desktop and my iPhone. Sure is nice to not have to deal with all the CAPTCHA snags.
I tried searching for an answer but was unable, please merge if I missed it.
So I decided to upgrade my Surfshark to use a Dedicated IP after realizing that it could help protect me from RD bans when streaming from horses in different US states at the same time. I’m using other solutions too, but figured adding another layer of defense couldn’t hurt. What I didn’t realize at the time of purchase is that once you pick the location of your IP you can never change it, nor did I realize there’s only a few US based options: NY, LA, Dallas, Denver, Vegas, & San Jose.
I have always set all my devices in all locations use the same servers, i.e., all devices connect to the Miami servers within Surfshark.
Now i have two questions before I select a dedicated IP location:
- Will the IP decouple from the servers connected to? For instance, if I choose my IP to be NY or LA, can my actual VPN server still be Atlanta or Miami etc. or will I be forced to have my connection routed through the actual location that my dedicated IP correlates to because what if going through NY or LA puts my VPN on a slower server than one that’s physically located closer to my homes?
- With the new anti-porn laws, only NY/LA don’t get you blocked when using normal Surfshark VPN, not that I’m streaming porn, but there’s clearly more freedom in those… where should i choose?
I would run various speed test from those locations and choose. IMHO the LA or San Jose most likely fit your use with the San Jose servers being recently updated and where I often find the better speeds.
Truly appreciate the help! Thank you!
FYI: Surfshark still doesn’t support Dedicated IP on Fire TV. I was able to get this working in Surfshark app on Fire TV using a work around. In Surfshark app you need to log out then back in. Then go to Version in lower left corner and click it it 5 times. Then select Turn on Mobile mode. Connect mouse/dongle to USB port on Fire TV Cube or use the Micro USB adapter On Fire Stick or older Cubes. You should see the your Dedicated IP under Locations. Select connect with mouse. Hit any side of navigational circle then select Turn on Tv mode. Disconnect VPN then Bookmark by clicking star to the right of United States. Beware the Auto Connect won’t automatically connect the Dedicated IP address.
AWESOME TIP!!! Will definitely do a video on this and give you credit for this tip. THANK YOU!!!
I got an update for you. I saw your post earlier about Surfshark’s Dedicated IP feature allows users to make their dedicated IP anonymous by unlinking it from their email address. This process involves saving a unique token and then removing the token from the Surfshark site. I ended up doing this now on new fire stick its requiring me to input token and I am unable access the box where you enter the token. Previously before removing token, it pulled in the Dedicated IP after logging out then back in to surfshark.
