Surfshark Individual Servers within Locations

Just purchased surfshark after reading about it in Troy’s review…
I watched his video on how to install it on fire stick and it was very helpful, however there is one thing I don’t see referenced in the video and that is this…
Can you select individual servers within the selected location???
I used to have IP vanish and if I selected Chicago for example there was a listing of all the individual servers in the Chicago location to choose from.
Does surfshark off of this selection option?

Thank you.

Unfortunately, negative…but I’ve been looking & hoping they do in the future.

However surfshark will connect you with the fastest at the location. Try switching to the Newyork server and running a test.

Do you know if the “Invisible to Devices” feature is the same as Local area Network (LAN) in IPVanish? Asking because I like to record sports in Tivimate to my laptop.
Thanks, Steve

Hey Ron…you’ve said you get a good connection from NY…are you just clicking on the city or using the static ip addresses?

City, its the config from surfshark installed in my router.

yes, invisible is not seen on lan

Had trouble using YouTube with Surfshark, so test it BEFORE you commit to using Surfshark as your VPN!

Thank you for a quick reply. Now to decide whether to make the switch from IPVanish.

Because youtube app you need to split tunnel. You will run into issues with vpns on these apps.

I’m sticking with my current VPN provider for now.

Never had a problem with YouTube, when I use ExpressVPN.

At some point you will, not all vpns work with these apps, some do some dont. These are major apps like prime netflix etc… they dont play nice with vpns, this has been discussed at length.

So, how do you split tunnel? I feel like if a VPN is worth going with, you shouldn’t have to jump through those hoops to make it work!

SS calls it “Bypass”. Turn that on and choose the app to Bypass. (Features tab on left of VPN menu, scroll over to right and it is under the CleanWeb option)

I’m a big believer in ExpressVPN as well. But Surfshark has really knocked my socks off.

The Clean Web option was already turned off, when I checked it. That’s something the tech support guy told me to do. Didn’t make a difference. Can’t figure out why the fastest server that SS recommends, wouldn’t work!!!

Yea, the “fastest server” automated system doesnt seem to work correctly on any VPN. That connects me to St Louis, Mo when Detroit and Buffalo are right next to me and are so much faster and more stable (I’m in Ohio).

That’s my MAJOR problem. I probably watch more YouTube than anything else, when I’m not watching TV.

Find the best server that works most reliably for you and set it as the default under the quick-connect and auto-connect options. It will always go to that best option for you.

Why use a vpn with youtube? just curious
