Surfshark "Clean Web" blocking IPTV services

I live in Canada and have found Montreal least problematic. I also recently added a 3rd provider which may have been a problem, and subsequently removed a backup provider as well as turning off Cleanweb.

Things seem to have improved.

I just used the bypass VPN option on Surfshark for my IPTV service.

Funny how that works ..I reside less than an hr from Montreal and the Montreal server is one of the worst for me..all it does is buffer but does a great job for you..

I had good success with the Montreal servers until about 2 months ago, then I had to switch to Vancouver servers. All G2G now.

It’s been said that the closer you are to a server the better your experience.. however, being in Ottawa, the Toronto server provides me with the best streaming experience.

You are correct, being closer to a server doesn’t always guarantee better speeds.

This is exactly the case. I had trouble for the longest time only being able to get service to come thru by connecting to Static ip. But soon as I turn off clean web all work

Wow I just got on here and Clean web worked on my IPTV as well. That was good to know. But I’m sure if I goto use Bee TV I will need to turn it back on the stop the adds. Is this correct?

I would do it, just to be safe.

When I first bought Surfshark a couple of years ago, CleanWeb worked great at getting rid of ads on my movie apps, then about 6 months ago, it stopped working. I just renewed it and it still will not get rid of the ads as it had before, in those same apps. I have always had to shut down surfshark to get my Live TV services to work, which defeats the purpose of having a VPN but maybe just turning off cleanweb, since it isn’t working anyway might allow my Live TV apps to work properly.

That’s how it’s suppose to work but it quit stopping the ads on mine months ago, which is a real disappointment.

When you do that with Surf Shark, it is the same thing as turning off your VPN. You essentially are unprotected.

Surfshark does NOT block the puny little ads on XCIPTV 7.0 but I think that’s the only app it lets ads through. It works GREAT on my PC at blocking ads and those annoying pop up videos that follow you all over the place.

So are you saying if you turn off CleanWeb, you are not running SurfShark VPN?:open_mouth:

No, if you list your IPTV app on the “Bypass” feature, it will do just that; it bypasses that app, so no protection. But if you turn off the “CleanWeb” feature, it just disables that feature, but you still get the full protection of the VPN.

Could TP put Malwarebytes in the TP Toolbox?

It is an App that you have to buy. I think there was a free option at one time but haven’t looked in a while. I’ll check. Oh there is and it’s really improved since I last looked.

Got it. I have it installed and it distorts way out of proportion and initially rotates the screen and then rotates it back. Very weird. I’ll fiddle with it.

Thank you for the link.
