I LIKE Stremio but I LOVE Kodi. I imagine this is a function of what you’re used to. I’ve used Kodi for years but Stremio for a maybe a year. @BigDave nailed it, as usual.
Different tools that have overlapping utilities…like a crescent wrench vs a socket set.
If streaming is your only concern, Stremio and Strmr are both likely the easier choices…until you run into a stream with player problems, which happens if you want an older or less popular show or movie. Kodi will play nearly anything in any format. Occasionally I will have no audio while streaming a movie that I’ve ripped to my Jellyfin server. The Jellycon Kodi addon…problem solved!
Which is better depends on your personal requirements.
I’ve used Kodi for over 10 years but found it to be slow, particularly with the Crew (even on my 2019 Shield Pro). I’d gradually switched over to stand-alone Android apps (Cinema, Onstream, Stremio, etc). However, since installing the POV add-on, I’m using it more and more, especially on firesticks (since Amazon has started playing silly buggers, blocking apps) and since my main Stremio add (Torrentio) has developed glitches and bugs.
Torrentio with the Debrid services has resolved the problems. I am now getting dozens of sources again. RD, TB & PM.

Stremio. Stremio. Stremio. Those are my recommendations.
thanks for sharing that link……it will be good for when i get my new boxs next week . I got the mecool and google tv box . so is stremio like kodi and which on is easier ?
The answer to that has been a lively discussion here for a very long time. A poll was done as to which app was most popular Kodi or Stremio. At that time, which was several months, ago Kodi won hands down but that was several months ago. Kodi is indeed a fantastic media app but, and for me it’s a big but, it is not my favourite. I have tried it many many times over the years and simply don’t like it at all. I won’t get into the details as to why that is, it just is. I am %100 Stremio with a proviso. I only use it for movies and series, nothing else. I don’t care about an apps looks or eye candy if you will. All I care about is the ease of setup and use. Yes it may seem that Stremio has had some problems recently but in all fairness that was the addons not the app. Now I’m going to give you a few minutes to read this and form your own opinion and then I have to move these posts as we are violating the rules by not sticking to the topic as described on the topic title.
Try BEETV. It’s excellent!!
All i want is something easy and i only be using it for tv and movies .I was thinking Stemio myself.
Stremio is no good for live TV. For that I use TiVimate with a verified IPTV service.
Well, you can use the USA TV addon on Stremio for some live channels.
Have you tried it? Does it perform well? Buffering etc.?
I tried USA TV for a little bit. Based on my short trial, I wouldn’t recommend it.
It’s about the same as Streamfire and LivenetTV. Not 100% but maybe 95%.
Yes, but with all the attention streamo has been getting.Praying they forget Kodi. As long as we have fitzwell, Umbrella and fen lite. Nothing is comparing. Quick massage I added streamo, stremr as back ups and my email showed up on the badweb. And somehow tried to use my wells card in Brazil for $17 just on how those two things happen the day after I installed my backups I really do love the fact that you only have to do one streamo n it set up on any other device, APKs n Kodi THANKS Troy don’t wright that lightly. Bank flagged it new card . Streamo n stremr are just a interface so more likely a coincidence use the throw away made up Gmail but did it on my device mobile phone anyway it’s just great to have all different options so kudos to all of the developers out there save me for a very boring evenings at least have something to watch Good day and be safe
That $17 was probably just a test, big charges follow if no action is taken….
I so rarely ever get buffering or any issues using Stremio. Maybe one in every hundred vids I watch cause me a problem. Love the hi res offerings as well as Dolby Atmos when it’s available.,
Have you tried PRIVACY.COM for on line credit card payments? It’s brilliant and prevents fraud.
Will try thanks
