You are always welcome PF. Let me know what you think of it. I’m going back to 1.5.7 as I don’t like this version.
My Windows version auto-updated the last time I loaded it (doesn’t appear to be any way to stop it). Don’t like the new version, especially the now-very-limited “Discover” section (at least on the new PC version). Accidentally installed the new version on my firestick last week and immediately uninstalled it and reinstalled the previous version.
I used Downloader on the Shield to install new version.
Yeah, I used the Downloader browser to get tote Stremio website and downloaded it from there. Tbh, I haven’t used Stremio or Syncler+ for the last couple of months. So, I was unaware of any updates.
@Miki . I have just been on their website, using my Samsung S20 fe.
It shows 4 downloads, but there are no boxes and therefore no highlight to recommend a download version. I currently have 1.5.9 Arm for Android.
Turned on my mac, and no chance to stop the update.
I will be more cautious on my Minix set top box (Android OS, mot Android TV). Currently have 1.5.9 arm android stremio installed and backed up.
I might take a look at the new 1.6.0
arm update. If i dont like it, i will revert back.
Update. Installed version 1.6.0 arm for Android OS.
Menu is moved to bottom of screen.
Dark mode is now UI. And not easy to read the synopsis on a wishy washy background.
My library> movies. Certain movies have no synopsis or error fetching stream.
Uninstalled. Installed 1.5.9 arm for Android OS. My library>movies…Those same movies that i mentioned in above paragraph, populate correctly with full synopsis. Ticket sent to Stremio zendesk.
Will stay with 1.5.9 arm for Android OS.
Just heard back from Stremio. Quote;" We are aware of the synopsis issue, and it will be fixed soon".
How did you re-install an older version.I guess we’re screwed on windows .
As Stremio keeps all your configuration data in the cloud it’s as simple as deleting the stremio you have on the target device and then simply download the APK version you want and install it. I have the 1.5.7 APK saved in my downloader/files. Then open it and log in. This will then propagate your settings and watched history. This is one of the advantages of Stremio. Install/setup/login and that’s it, done.
Have fun and STREAM ON!!
As @Miki said, i too have the old version backed up to my sd card and my downloads file.
I’m sure on windows you could do something similar, or even to a usb stick.
Keep the old version and the new version backed up,and then you can uninstall and reinstall either version.
One thing I noticed is stremio now interacts better with projectivy launcher, example it will now show all my current favorite series im watching on home screen.
I guess that only applies to protectivity launcher. Is that something you had to set up in Stremio, to show favourites on home screen?
And am i correct i assuming you are using an Android TV device.
Doesn’t the favourites clutter up your home screen?
Only asking because i am keen to learn from others.
I never saved any previous versions on downloader like a dumb butt. I only saw the current version on downloader. Gonna have to do some research.
There are lots of places to download the APK from. Just do a search for Stremio older APK .
to clarify, it shows stremio favorites etc on projectivy launcher screen.
Many thanks. Learn something every day🙏🏻
