I downloaded Smart Tube from the toolbox and it wants me to log in to prove I am a real person. How in the heck does one log in? Thanks

there shouldnt be any log in i have on stick didnt ask for any thing only thing you have to watch out for is it updates a lot. i would delete an reinstall

i dont have yt account and its working fine so not sure why
You can do that, but you won’t have any history or playlists that will carry across to all your devices. Ex: I have playlists for Ancient Alien episodes and music playlists, etc. By signing into my account. I can access them on any device, including my Android Auto.
Also, you can have more than one account.

Not me. I use SmartTube every single day. Mosly for researching and I also have a library of relaxing music I will play with no video (black Screen) when going to sleep.

I logged into my Android TV box with my gmail address, which is also the same account I use for Youtube. Smarttube detected that and had already logged me into the app with that account.
I don’t have a YouTube account

I’m like pirate77, I’ve never logged into SmartTube and have been using it daily for several months. Unfortunately I can’t recall how I did this but it was really easy. And I have it that way on 3 devices. I will see if I can find Troy’s tutorial on setting up ST as that is what I followed originally.
NOTE: I just looked at Troy’s original tutorial on SmartTube. Troy does say to log in. But I’ve never logged in and for the life of me can’t remember how I did it. It certainly wasn’t too difficult though.

Didn’t you create or log into your google account when setting up your device?
If so, that is your YT account. They are one in the same.
I don’t think I created or logged in to anything. Even if I had an account, I don’t see anywhere on the screen to log in
Sorry i forgot from the other thread you are using a FS.
I do this and set a sleep timer also. The screen goes totally black.
Btw, these vids by Janis are great to use when creating live wallpapers. I’ll record about 60 seconds worth of video and then overlay some nature sounds and use it for my live screensavers and wallpapers with sound
