New Firestick 4K Max not displaying side loaded app icons Streaming Devices / Hardware

I was setting up my fire TV stick 4K Max that I just received today. When side loading apps, such as Kodi or cinema free, the apps are running fine, but I am getting no app Icon. Just getting a gray box?..
