Over 80 seniors

Used this category because did’nt know where else to put it.
Just spent an hour reading up on a bunch of posts where most of the discussed topics were all greek to me.
I’m an 85 year old misfit with a failing memory and understander. (Is this a real word).
I knew I was in trouble when I had to keep asking the missus how to flush the toilet, let alone putting the seat down.
Keep up the good work,boys.
The Cube and Kodi for me. Love the addons who have a Years Option Still on the 1935 to 1945 collection.

Dear “Trav”, If you’re using Kodi, you’re in much better shape than you think. I have a much younger friend whom I tried to interest in our “methods” here, but he said it was too much for him. AND HE USED TO WORK FOR NASA!!!

Specifically which addons are you using to access these old movies?

Sims like this are for over 80 so I’m 85 and I’m struggling with this problem on my Firestick; when I turn it on it goes from looking for updates to Amazon registration and there is nothing I can do about it, is there anything I can do ? anybody’s help will be much appreciated.

I think full reset and reload but let’s see what others believe…maybe a new email? (20 mins for all)

Do you use KODI?
Do you use only l Amazon Prime?
What apps?

My first question is, did this simply start happening out of the blue? Have you recently added an app? Have you tried the “full power cycle” to reset. This is where you unplug everything from power and I mean everything. Modem/router. TV. and streaming device. Unplug the stick from the HDMI port. With everything unplugged wait for a few minutes and plug it all back in. Watch carefully and see if any warning screens pop up when you go to turn everything back on. Are you able to get into “settings”. Always plug the stick directly into house power not the USB port on the TV. Switch HDMI inputs. Swap cables if you have extra. Use a second sticks power cube in case that’s gone bad. Sorry there is so much to do but sounds like there has been an interuption of the sticks start-up/boot procedure and it has not cleared that state. Hopefully the above will help. Let us know. GL2U.

As a founding member, I compliment you on this reply to the other member. As an 85 year old, clear, simple, and total instructions is very important for us old birds. Memory leaves us, helpless more often than not.

I am 70 so I understand completely. These things can be difficult to diagnose and fix. But there are some things we can do to narrow our focus and hopefully fix their issue.

Thank you Miki for your help, Yes this started of the blue, I did everything you mentioned, I disconnected everything for 12 hours, and when I turned it on the same thing happened now not even finished rebooting, is driving me creasy

Ok here is a link to a video and some other advice. Watch and read. Sorry I can’t be of much help as I would need to be there to get into advanced options.

If you can …delete any APPS that you got from Amazon on the stick.
and tr this…
Reregister the stick… You can visit www.amazon.com/code to enter the 6 digit code you see in your screen, please do this on a second device, like your cellphone, a tablet or a computer.
I really hope one of these two ideas helps.
