The hub does have a power input, the USB-C port, I donât use this hub but I have used a number of powered USB hubs.
If you look at the pictures on Amazon they do show the port connected to a 5W power supply and they stipulate 5W. So if Ethernet is what isnât working trying a 5W power supply shouldnât be too difficult.
I would point out that Troy did not use a power supply but I think he was only demonstrating USB storage. I would also point out that this is usually referred to as a PD port (power distribution) with most powered hubs, I didnât see it referred to as such on Amazon. It looks to me like the port is used to power USB peripherals only. If you examine the picture it indicates a single direction for power to the USB-C from the power block and from a USB port to a .peripheral.
This typically comes with a sh*tty manual but it at least should have some info about each port.
Again, I donât use this hub, I have no idea about what your trying to accomplish or if this hub is suitable for what youâre doing.
I will say it can be a challenge to switch from Wi-Fi to Ethernet with Google TV, typically requires some cussing and a reboot or two in my experience.
I used the uGreen powered hubs to extend the abilities of the firesticks, I always plugged the power in directtly to a power surge strip. I have also plugged ethernet into the Firestick, SK1, Shield Pro, and Buzz P6L. It was very simple, plug the ethernet cable into the modem and into your device and then turn everything back on. Every one of my devices automatically switch to the ethernet when started up.
I just bought a powered USB 4 port hub I have the Ugreen ethernet adapter in it, a 128gb flash drive, and the wechip dongle for the keyboard, although it no longer works with the 14 update.
The powered hub seems to have corrected my internet dropping issues for now.
Started to play more with my NEW plus. Loaded on the usual stuff, Stremio, Kodi, Syncler and Tivimate. Iâm trying to compare it to the OS on my TCL tv. The one thing I noticed is when I do use, say Stremio I do pull up feeds that actually say 4K and does show DV. Now this never showed up on my TCL even though it is DV capable. Can someone enlighten me as to why? BUT, the feeds to not play without a lot of buffering even with small file size and a number of feeders. Thanks
Remy, just a guess here, but did you setup the settings in your TV settings?( LOL! too many settings in that sentence). I assume that you were referring to using your TVâs OS for streaming compared to the ONN. You should be able to adjust the settings to allow higher resolutions and most likely Dolby. And yes, anything that is a super big file may cause buffering.
I was just thinking, if you have Amazon Prime or subscribe to Netflix you wonât need to use a VPN which should give you more speed for the larger files. We have Prime and a subscription to You Tube, but Iâve never tried streaming either of those without the VPN. If I am wrong here, please correct me.
I would think TCL settings would automatically play the content in the best format but the Onn Plus doesnât know you have a TV capable to show DV content
Bypass your VPN with those apps and services that donât need to be hidden. Get your full ISP bandwidth not that a VPN should cause grief but you donât need them.
Some info here. Read the comment regarding android 14 and installing PL with atvTools and getting accessibility to stay on. Thatâs if you are running android 14
Use Launcher Manger to get Projectivy to work, you can get it from Troyâs tool box, for the mouse I bought tv quick actions pro and and set up the star button on my Onn remote.
It would be the apps that probably need to fix anything. They usually need to adapt and change some of their setting I guess in order to get their app to work correctly.
Plus had 14 from the start so none of that worked the way it should unless you had helper apps like Launcher Manager and tv quick actions.
Here is Troyâs video for using tv quick actions to set up a mouse. If I can do it you can do it. You may be able to get buy with the free version of tv quick actions.
Here is his how to for getting Projectivy to work on the 4K Plus, start at 10:00 and you should be good, if you have questions ask here or I believe you can message me on here some how.
The 4K plus Is faster than the 4K pro. Please look up the Greek scores. However, it would not allow me to load Cinema HD, no matter which version I tried. Also, it would not allow me to load YouTube ad free apps. Not for me if I canât load my apps, I use a lot. I use very few apps.
I have put Cinema HD and Smart tube on 2 plus boxes with no issues. As well as the dreaded Flix Vision, HDO Box, Onstream, even Cinema HQ and that one had a 28 out of 77 on the Virus Total scan.
I wonder if it is different versions of the app that may cause this.
As for fast,I honestly could not tell the difference in operation between the Plus and the Pro when set up the same way.
