If you go to the app odysee on your phone in Google Play store there was a series of videos about this exact thing but the app isn’t free but will do exactly what you’re looking for
This is the video there are 3 in total and follow this creator he’s done a lot of tutorials on Kodi and streaming very informative
The Button Mapper does the same thing and is a free download.

I know but the person said they tried the free one and it didn’t work for them I was giving them a proven method

Button Mapper has been around since forever and is proven by many time and time again…
Btw, I use Button Mapper on my Shields with no issues and have remapped the Netflix button a long time ago.
Most likely the person did not go into settings>Device Preferences>Accessibility>Button Mapper ON

I use it but they said it didn’t work when they tried it just giving them another option to try and there is a tutorial on both I assumed they watched before trying the app a lot of apps have videos just quick Google search away
That’s why I suggested they may have not enabled it in “Accessibility.”

Powerfader’s steps and Miki’s video worked great for me. But it’s always good to have options as 3825_968 suggests.
Heck, try the free one and if that doesn’t work, go for the alternative.
