Never thought of ditching my Shield, even a few years back when they had a bad update experience which they addressed immediately. Can’t say the same for other products. ONN seems to be on a somewhat similar path. I probably would buy a new release if and when it comes available.

And if a new release drops we’ll be right there to cover it with our thoughts!

HAve a 2015 & 2 2017 versions… Love them all. Only thing I dislike is the lack of built in storage, and running an external storage device for too long makes them all lock up and become unusable unless the USB is removed.

I had a Samsung EVO 256GB SSD attached to my shield for 3 yrs. Dual partitioned it for internal/external storage. Never disconnected it, and never had a moment of problems with either the drive or the 2019 Shield Pro. Cleaned out the dust from the Shield bimonthly and always had a fan running under it.

@Shush319 This could possibly be an issue with the older models. I added a Sandisk 64g flash drive about 6 month ago in my 2019 Pro and it is working just great.

I also have two of the new “hot ticket” boxes. If I was forced to have only one box, it would absolutely keep my Shield Pro.

I purchased mine in 2016 and the only trouble I had was I had to replace the remote dam I hated that slim remote, other then that I still use my shield every day and have zero issues with it I would be more then happy to purchase a new one at $200 but I will keep this one still, also off topic thank you troypoint for all the information on everything you do I have been a 100% cord cutter sense 2020 because of you.

Have you all heard about this? I ran across this on YT while watching something else.

I haven’t implemented any changes yet as I have been focusing on getting the ONN Pro that I’ve had for 5-6 months and not hardly touched it.

Lol. Gotta sign in to see the vid. Not sure where or who to sign in to or for. Maybe you have to have a you tube account, if so, hard pass.

hey @Miki , i think?? you just have to have a google email….

Not sure what that means @itzme . I have 4 google emails

yeah, that’ll work….just use one of those when it asks ya to sign in

But there’s no where to sign in. I am using my google account

if you click YouTube there at bottom right then it opens in YouTube, then upper right is a sign in button

Already tried that, it opens an entirely different vid for me in the “more vids row”. Lol. Oh well no biggy. This is what I get after clicking.

Another enigma we may never understand….

I have a feeling this is how my day is going to go.

@Miki That is strange I’ve never seen that before. I know you use a tablet not a PC but if you are signed in to your Google account any Youtube video should just play
