Nvidia Shield debating on Switching from Firestick?

I really like my X5. I bring it out as much as possible. Granted I haven’t tried anything hardcore with it like recording, but what I use it for at the moment is perfect. Gonna hook it up later and probably use it outside for College Football tomorrow. Just put robot in pool and going to shop for a couple devices I think. Lol Maybe another KM2 & KM2 Plus along with a Formulator Z10 Max Pro which would probably make @TP-Dracoo happy. LMAO

I tested out a formuler Z10, great box.

Obviously it would just be another toy for me as it’s not something for the family not being Netflix certified. I dig a box with its own player setup. Nice change of pace and something different to look at and tinker with

Always nice to have a project to tinker with. I just decided to switch All my computers over to Linux jumped in Head first definitely a learning curve to say the least but I enjoy the challenge and the new os is fast :v::sunglasses:

Linux can make an old pc or laptop jump up and go :+1:

I did that with a laptop a few years ago to test my ability and it went flawless.

So far so good with some help from TXRon. Boy my newer solid state laptops are flying and even the 15 Year old one that was my first attempt at Linux is moving fast. I would definitely recommend it to anyone with a little adventurous side and a little know how to give it a shot. I did all 5 of mine with no regrets. :v::sunglasses:

The only issue I ran into with putting Ubuntu on was having to add the couple lines of code to get the Wi-Fi going on it. A little research and got it

Miki, your a good guy,
and other friends?I guess the Z10 is another type of box?
sounds great, how much do they go for?

Found some in the $150-$160 range

not bad, what app store can you use?

I don’t own one yet but maybe @TP-Dracoo can chime in and fill us all in on what’s available on this beast

I did read that it has like a “lite” version of Google Play Store. Is this correct?

The Shield has Google Playstore but it is also lite, I can sideload a good amount also,

Shield Pro is such an easy to use device. I was able to do everything I wanted with the possibility of doing more on it I guess if I really wanted. Very Very nice device

lite version is just because its not google certified

I turned my km2 into a plus…I put a USB stick in it . But really the plus is a good option as it’s about the same price as the original km2. I think they are going to phase out the w and just sell the plus. Mecool website is doing a 2 box special discount . Not super cheap but yeah it looks like they want to push the white boxes out .

I’m really enjoying the KM2. Great device thus far. Not a power user yet so I just expanded for the heck of it and something to do for a second. Put a 32gb Sandisk in

I don’t do any gaming. Strictly streaming and the mecool does it without issue. No drama with putting it into developer mode like firestick .
