Just fired up the Shield and my hotfix is installing now. Fingers crossed.
Oh a warning, make sure, when you fill out the form, that you are using the proper account. I had to resend mine as I have several accounts and was sending the form on my pixel tab which is using a seperate account to my Shield Pro. Once I corrected that mistake the update was almost instantaneous but is taking several minutes to get done. After finishing the update make sure to reconnect your VPN, if you use one, as well as your TDUK DNS Switcher if youâre using that. I recommend waiting for at least 2-3 minutes after it appears to be done as the Shield is slow to respond to the remote as are most of the apps.
I just downloaded the update, I hope it fixes the remote control freezing continually. Fingers Crossed.

I followed your instructions last night, this morning received instructions to load new update., took about 10 minutes.

Thank God, because mine keeps freezing. Unable to use the remote, I have to unplug it from the wall and itâs good for a day or so and it happens again. Very frustrating!
Gosh, mine wouldnât even power up last night. And the remote was dead. Frustrated, I too, unplugged, waited the 10 minutes than plugged back in. Then all was good.
I never received any notice about an update. But I checked the other night and it was 9.1.1.
From what I read this is pure speculation and heresay off some lame Reddit post.
