What is the best modem to use with the pcWRT CF-XR10 Dual Band AX1800 WiFi 6 WireGuard Router. I currently use comcast which has a modem and router as one unit.

Hi Mike, you should be able to use your same unit and just plug this into one of the available LAN ports on the back of your current router/modem.

I would pick up a modem and turn in the xfinity junk and save the monthly fee they are charging…imho

I’m not a fan of the provider supplied modem/router OE.

I like Motorola and Netgear modems.

ip to set up router is 192.168.10.1 all good set it up per p/w on device and wifi i get no connection from my isp weird all set to dhcp as it said you are good to go lol

if not already try a reboot of the modem and router and re-try. This is the new vpn router?

yeh done all that i verified my isp is good there is no directions in the box just scans omg

hard to believe no directions were sent…oh well…is their a tech support or forum site for the router? Many devices you can download directions from their site however generally this is a simple process to set up. Can you log into a web interface of the router?

Yep that’s where you set up your p/w for device and Wi-Fi that works I haven’t seen any info on YouTube at all other than Troy on the vpn per ss

Just guessing here since I cant see what you do but if you can get into web interface then check lan and wan is set to auto, make sure dns server is up…etc etc

yeh so my lap top is set to dhcp per my isp hand off and that is good
i scaned the sad, directions on my phone and input them per the ip given 192.168.10.1
so i got into the router via patch cable and pc the only thing per the instructions was
router password and ssid password at the end it said you are good to go guess im gonna have to
try to find some tech support via pcwrt all my other wi units has been plug and play weird…

I bought a PCWRT router and called my internet provider for just a modem. Not a combo unit. My internet is fiber optic high speed. I was told they only have combo units and would need to buy my own modem and call them back with codes. What modem would be a good one to get?
