Google / ONN box $ 19.00 & change any Walmart store can’t go wrong
So, something that has been bugging me enough to shelve my KM6s. I also will be the first one to admit that I overlooked the value of this feature, but the fact that the KM6s (are all Mecools this way?) cannot link with the TV that it is on and control volume and power is just not acceptable. My question then is, what is it about a Firestick, Tivo4k and on and on that easily identifies your TV and links to it? Is this built into the software and just isn’t in a KM6 (is there a reason why it isn’t if that statement is true?)? I did see Troy verified a couple years ago that this box won’t do what I mention above in his review of it, but again, I terribly underestimated the convenience of having it hook together right out of the box. Is this something that could be fixed with an app, or a firmware update from Mecool? It is bothering me why I can’t make it do what I want it to do.
Hi all. I have a new Mecool KM6. I have a scan disk memory card inserted. The card formats fine and can be used as internal storage. However when I designate it as removable storage, I am unable to write. This also appears on the card set up screen. I am prompted to enable write, but cannot select card.
Do I have a faulty box or am I missing something simple. All apps have permissions. I have tried to move files from internal memory to card but keep getting unable to move file error.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Try reformatting it to external storage. Then it might allow it.

Tried that already. It is formatted to external storage, however still cannot write to it. Thanks anyway
I guess you can always try formatting it for internal storage

Oh well it was worth a try. If nothing else than to see if the MeCool would recognize the SD Card. GL2U
Just suggesting, Buzz5 or a Formular and of course Nvidia shield . I also have 2 Onn boxes and they work fantastic!!
I realize a lot of people have moved on from Mecools, and I do understand why. Since I acquired a cheap KM2 Plus, it is fresh on my mind again. Moreso because it has features like hooking the power/volume to the TV, that KM6 Deluxe, the way more powerful version doesn’t have. It bothers me that it is something that Mecool can’t fix/add to the operating system. All the good boxes now seem to have this simple but crucial feature. That is why my KM6s have been retired. It just sucks because there’s a lot of processing power in those, and just a waste of a box if they can’t be user friendly. Launcher manager also worked perfectly on the KM2 plus, but never worked on KM6 deluxe.

I had my KM2 for 2 weeks, then gave it away and moved on.
KM2 plus seems like a fine box, but the $87 price tag is going to get overshadowed by the $50 Onn box. Anyway, my biggest frustration is with the KM6 Deluxe, and always has been. I used it for a long while, and it was okay, but just doesn’t have the features for the user built in that most boxes do. I questioned Mecool about it and they threw me over firmware that wasn’t even for the KM6…go figure.
