Kodi guides and info

If Proton was such a great vpn and could do what they claim it does it would be well documented online in forums, chat groups and I think everyone would be using it.
A bit like iptv providers claiming they have 8k streams that don’t exist and users believing it.

Why are you using Surfshark on Kodi and not your other apps like Weyd, Stremio and Syncler?

I have not seen it mentioned online like Reddit, Discord or any of the online Tech forums I use.
Even all the online reviews and guides don’t list it as the fastest vpn on the market.
I will say what is well documented that
you cannot get a VPN that has a 1:1 ratio of speed or faster compared to the speed from your ISP.
Also when an vpn encrypts data it increases latency and ping which slows the transfer of data packets through servers back to your home network.

I’ll verify what Miki says.
Currently, I’m not using Proton clients on my devices while at home. Instead I’m using ASUS’s VPN client on the router with several VPN locations available, a few each OpenVpn and Wireguard.

With Wireguard, the DL speeds usually nearly matches or exceeds the speeds of when Proton is disconnected.

Links would be helpful but not sure if you have any.
Also I don’t always believe what users post on forums and look at different resources myself of official online reviews which carry out thorough testing of different services.
Then I try the service for myself to see if what they claim is accurate.

I am one of those like Miki, I don’t know how some foods are made, but I still like to eat them.

I worked with IPV VPN support for days. I just wanted to get close to what I paid my ISP for. On occasion, it’s very close, on others it’s more, while connected via ethernet.

My ping and latency was negatively affected with all the VPN’s I used with any of the protocols available.
Which in turn reduced the speed of the data that I accessed when the vpn was enabled.
I wasn’t using speed test websites or apps because they are not accurate.
A vpn can’t speed up your connection nor can it give better ping or latency speeds.
In some case when your isp is throttling your connection it can help but in general use adding complexity diminishes performance.
All you have do a basic ping test with and without you vpn enabled and see the results.

I have looked and looked at the independent reviews.
You have given no proof…

A screenshot proves nothing.
It is a widely known fact that a vpn can’t increase the speed of a connection that an isp provides.
Ask the question on Reddit or any credible forum and it will be confirmed.

Are you saying Reddit is a credible forum???

It does have credible information on it.
I would never claim all the information on it is fact.
It also has many credible users on it and some are very knowledgeable code developers.
One thing I do know is you can’t increase the speed of your connection that you isp supplies you with.
You can max it out but you can’t make it faster than what is supplied even with a vpn.
It’s a ridiculous statement and if you made the claim on Reddit or any other credible Tech forum you would be called out on it.
A bit like claiming 8k resolution iptv channels exist. They don’t.

I also don’t believe articles written by a vpn company claiming that their vpn can increase your internet connection by 400% lol.
Just remember it’s not lie if you believe it.

Like I said speed tests are not an accurate representation of your actual speed. A speed test is not accurate proof
Neither are some claims made by a company selling a product.
Independent analysis is more credible.
400% lol
Also you seem to forget it was you who claimed you had access to 8k iptv channels in another thread.
I did actually mention the Japanese satellite channel in that discussion and I stated it was the only channel that existed with 8k resolution.
You didn’t agree and claimed otherwise.
I didn’t use AI either because it’s not always accurate

I don’t have my facts askew.
I have also read the article and it states it increases the speed of their vpn 400%
It doesn’t mean it can increase the speed on your connection supplied to you by your isp.
Like I said a speed test is not a representation of your actual speed because you can try several different speed test and you will get varying results.
They can give you a rough idea if you have an issue with your connection.
Ping tests are more helpful if you are testing something like a VPN to see how it negatively it is affecting latency which they usually do.
Unless your ISP’s routing is inefficient, then a VPN can be helpful in this case or they are throttling your connection which they can do at times.
I understand how VPN’s work because I have done research.
I don’t like to argue I just don’t think it is helpful making unrealistic claims on a subjects that is widely known to be incorrect.
A vpn can’t increase the speed of the connection that your isp supplies to you.
The only way to increase it is to purchase a higher speed package.
If you don’t wish to accept or understand that then fair enough.

I have done the research and used Proton vpn and know others that have used it.
I did not increase my connection speed because any vpn can’t increase the speed of a connection that is designated and supplied by your isp only by purchasing I higher connection speed package can this be achieved.
Ask anyone involved in networking for a living or even your isp and they will say the same.
You just don’t want to except a commonly known fact.
But that is your choice it would seem.
You say there is no sense in discussing this, but you keep replying for some reason. It looks like you like to argue.

I haven’t mentioned it in my last post and I’m not fixated on it either.
I said it stated it increased the VPN speed by 400% in a previous post.
There are lots of factors that can impact connection speed. Equipment limitations, using hardwired, WiFi interference, etc
I will say again using a speed test is not an accurate representation of your Internet speed. It’s a guide and not accurate.
I have also mentioned several times that a vpn can’t increase the speed of your designated connection speed from your ISP. Which is a known fact.
Just because a company claims something doesn’t mean it’s actually a fact.
You have heard of false advertising I would assume.
Just remember, it’s not a lie if you believe it.

Good morning @itzme . Have a buffer free day.

Surfshark is added to my device so it covers everything.

Hello…please help. I’m fairly new to all this but I’ve got the latest stable release of Kodi on my new firestick 4k (latest model). I went through a couple of the troypoint videos to set everything up and I had it working okay. But I was frequently encountering issues where I couldn’t open the app. So, I would force close and clear cache. But tonight after installing the build from the Supercharge Kodi Video I found myself being kicked out of the app constantly. I would force stop and clear the cache, but I can’t seem to get beyond the plantetdiggz page where it shows the version 3.1 next to chef wizard. I had The Crew add-on setup and working previously. This time when following the video I added Umbrella. I was even able to authorize my real-debrid account. But when I attempted to add the skin I get booted. And when I return, the skin is not loaded…I’m stuck on this setup wizard page in a loop of getting booted out…I’ve spent hours trying to get this to work. I don’t know what to do.
Any help, recommendations, or even criticism at this point (as long as it helps) would be appreciated.
