As you requested…video coming soon for this as well. Thanks for the help you are providing others!
Does anyone have any experience being able to install and use the Jellyfin app on an Android AOSP box?
I’d like to know before I consider buying what we used to refer to as a ‘stock’ streaming device.
I’ve just ordered ugoos am9, I would definitely be interested if there were a way to run jellyfin server on the AM9, otherwise I have to buy mini PC or maybe nas, I have been considering a nas for my movies but a little expensive.
Great video on Jellyfin would love to see more detailed videos on Jellyfin thank you!
Are your movies ripped from Blu Ray & DVD disks? Or are they compressed files?
They are compressed files.
Then IMO, you don’t need a particularly powerful computer or to set up an NAS system with a humongous amount of storage. My server is a refurbished Dell mini PC that I bought off of Discount Computer Depot’s EBay store for way less than $100. I use a 2-bay HD dock with a couple of refurbed 1 TB 2.5” hard drives.
It’s probably possible to set the Ugoos as a server, but I think you’d be happier with using a dedicated cheap Windows or Linux machine as your server.
Awesome, thanks so much for your advice.
I’ll have a look around for a cheap PC..
I did a search and didn’t see anything on this…I recently switched from plex to Jellyfin and I found a cool plugin. GitHub - lostb1t/Gelato: Jellyfin Stremio Integration Plugin You add the repository and install gelato, then you can set up an AIO Stremio addon and integrate debrid services easily into your Jellyfin. This allows you to share your debrid services with your family through Jellyfin. I just started testing it tonight but so far every search I’ve made has added a movie or series to my library that I can watch
Yeah, that would get around RD’s multiple location restriction since your Jellyfin server would be the single address that RD’s servers would see.
i am updating…it has worked perfectly so far. all users on my server have to do is search for anything they wanna watch and it is automatically added to the library and they can watch it. i’ve honestly been trying to make this work with plex and an app called zurg for about 6 months and i could never get the settings quite right but i got this working within a few minutes and it is awesome.
Question for when I get back home:
The tutorial at the github site demos doing a fresh installation of a clean JF server. So is it possible to add the Gelato/Stremio feature to an existing server?
I added it to an already running server and it worked. The little shutdown thing they did on the video did not work. I had to restart my docker stack after every step pretty much
Went off all your instructions working fine.much better than Plex keep doing videos of jellyfin love to no more about this software if you don’t mind
