Yes! Jailbreaking is for apple products, and side loading is for Android or Fire os.

I read at the top of this page where Troy or somebody said that a Nvidia Shield could be jail broken. The rest of the page just discusses jailbreaking and side loading. Can some one just tell me if there is a video or written instructions showing me how to jail break a Shield. I don’t want to get caught up in all these different opinions. Thanks.
Hit Settings button on top right of Shield remote. Scroll down to Apps, then down to Security & Restrictions. Unknown Sources and toggle On the apps you will use to sideload apps from. Downloader, etc.
Depending on what you want to add, it may be in the play store. Look and see. Tivimate and other apps you might want are already there.
