Is the Onn 4K Pro actually a better deal than the Chromecast with Google TV?

Thank you so much for your advise to add sling app to my samsung tv, that worked and then I asked google to find sling tv and there it was. I just installed it and I am up and running. Thanks again. You are amazing!

I just dumped my firestick and and am using the refular onn and far easier and better than the firestick! After all the friggin updates and amazon linked my account to the firestick it just sucks now very slow among other things. And dont like amazon knowing what im watching and adding apps to use up all my memory.
Thankyou Troy for recommending the onn soooo much it feels like the old firestick again! Happiness restored!!

Amazon has always linked your account to the firestick with your registered account on it. I had 8 at one time. Removed them once I deactivated them and destroyed them by going into jy Amazon account.

My walmart had 6 of them on the shelf , i looked at it and didnt pull the trigger and buy it. I was wondering also if anybody has tried yet.

Youā€™re kidding me right, you talking about the onn right! I think Iā€™m the only guy that hasnā€™t bought one! LOL

Iā€™m #2. Ainā€™t ever happening.

True but now they actually sync your firestick to amazon prime movies/tv if you have that without even asking - i was seeing ads for movies and tv shows i watched on amazon prime on my main screen watched history on the firestick way too invasive for my comfort and it messed with my ipvanish and closing background apps - app.

I donā€™t follow? Of course it gets synced to your Amazon Prime account. It gets Synced to all your Amazon stuff. Itā€™s been so long but I think if you go into your Amazon account you may be able to turn syncing off or remove apps from your Stick. Lots of things you can do in your Amazon account.

Go to Settings on your Fire TV.
Select Preferences .
Select Privacy Settings.
Select Manage Sharing From Apps.
Choose from the following options:
Manage Participating Apps: Manage sharing options from specific apps. A checkmark appears next to an app when sharing is On.
Share App Viewing and Content Info: Turn on or off sharing from all supported apps.
Sync Across Devices: Turn off to stop syncing your viewing activity across your Fire TV devices.

The only box better that Onn 4K is Nvidia Shield, period, end of story. But Onn is 4 times cheaper than NVidia. I bought 3 of those

Hell, Iā€™d say itā€™s better than my 2 Shields, which are now in a box in the closet. For $50, canā€™t go wrong with Onn4kPro.

Yeah Iā€™m still using my 4K Maxx fire stick. I use my shield Pro because of the of the upscaling for watching movies. My 4K fire stick is very quick light and actually better than the Shields Pro as far as watching live channels.

Yes i know about the sych of course but when after an update i started seeing live tv that i watch on prime tv advertised on the stick and when i checked the synch settings its syched automatically and cant be undone unless u cancel your amazon account as i read it.
And all these channels showed up that i didnā€™t approve.
So anyway i disconnected and am using onn and its perfect. Thanks for the help.

If you have a firestick ditch it and get onn its far better and easier

You can disable the Sync without cancelling your account. GL2U

No worries im sticking to onn less of a hassle than the stick for me .

Good thing there are choices. Ya if youā€™re having difficulties then a more basic device like the ONN is a good place to learn.
