Here’s my First Impressions video for running IPTV on an Apple TV. In this video, I’m using the 3rd Gen Apple TV 4K (64GB). I picked this up at Best Buy a few nights ago.
Thanks for this review. I’ve been an ios user (phones & iPads) for as far back as I can remember and any other phones and tablets just feel insane to me now. I have a Samsung phone for work and I hate it.
All that said though, I totally agree with your summary about the limitations of Apple TV versus Android tv operating systems. Although the device you just reviewed looks nice and appears to be smooth and easy to use, it seems pointless to invest a lot of money in it when there are so many alternative options out there that can offer so much more and be tailored to your own requirements.
Other than having to have all your products be Apple products, the Apple TV just doesn’t seem necessary unless there are significant changes to the limitations of what you can do with it, and as Troy said, that is highly unlikely.
As for phones and tablets I won’t ever leave the dark side so please nobody even think about trying to convert me!
Yes on the Kodi on Apple TV !
What is special about Kodi… are there video’s on how kodi works on Android… not a apple user…
I’d be a little concerned about the VPN not having a kill switch and I don’t think there is a VPN monitor available. This is a good step in the right direction though with at least offering some level of VPN support on AppleTV.
Excellent review Troy! It has potential
Thanks for the review Troy. Wondering if Apple will play games with so called unlicensed iptv services on the new Tivimax. Same question even if you add KODI–can you side load kodi apps like crew, elements, fen, etc??
What IPTV service are you using?
Newbie. Excellent review
Can u use tivimax on 5 devices at once like tivimate?
6 devices I believe
What IPTV service do you use Troy?
Ok cus tivimate u can have 5 on ir account
Yes for Kodi on Apple TV.
Great review.
I use a paid service to get Kodi on my Apple TV 4K
https://www.koditvbox.tv/ $25 a year. It comes with a few other features to be able to play retro games and it has different TV channel and movie channel loaders.
Additionally, I use a router set up as a VPN service and I plug that directly into my Apple TV so that I never lose my VPN.
I’m trying to figure out how to get my IPTV player on Kodi so I can watch everything from Kodi rather than having to go to a different app on my Apple TV. I’m using IMax based on your review on Rumble. It works fine on Tivimax. As you’ve said in the review No recording.
Do you have a review that shows how to load IPTV service Kodi?
It would be really nice to be able to do that especially with some of the local news and stuff.
Will
Tivimax is more expensive so maybe they thought the extra device would mean great value!
I downloaded and use Kodi on my MacOs system with no issues. I have not tried it on iOS
I use IPTV Streamer and GSE as my players on my iMac, they work fine but do no have the features Tivimate has on Android.
Good review, good potential.
Thank you.
I rhought tovimate was always 20 bucks? Cus thats how muxh ibpaid for mines like 4 yrs ago
Thank you i appreciate the video.
Now 30 for Tivimate actually. But I was getting mixed up due to the 9.99 for a year option, once was 4.99! Tivimax premium is 19.99 and that’s it, no annual option.
