Love seeing highlights of Tom Brady - The GOAT!
I tried to get Sparkles a few months back but as Troy pointed out, you can only buy through Google and for me, that’s an absolute no go. If, or when, I can purchase a lifetime sub from someplace other than Google I would do it. Fortunately time shift isn’t anything I have ever used, or needed, but I do agree it’s a feature worth having.
Maybe someone could answer this question. So if I purchase on Google play store obviously that would be with my Gmail account. Now if I want to use the sync plus to different devices option, can I use my proton mail to set this part up?
Hello @PapaS good question. Once you purchase through Google Play you can manage everything through that Google device. Here are some screenshots within the app that shows how you can delete devices that are currently using the app. When you purchase you set a password and then on your other devices you just input your email address and that password that you set. I will say that this is much better compared to how the old TiviMate activation worked.
Thanks @TROYPOINT for that insight. Guess I’ll have 3 players now, Tivimate, Televizo and Sparkle. ![]()
Been using sparkle for sometime now, a couple things i like about it is scheduled recording is much easier than TV mate, and you con configure your remote buttons right on the app to fit your needs.
Sparkle TV is the best IPTV player on the market. I have used IMPlayer which has the timeshift feature as well but I find IMPlayer’s user interface is rather difficult to use. Sparkle TV is definitely better than Tivimate. For me the timeshift feature is a game changer.

I have Sparkle premium, and use it on some of my boxes. I like it and it is one of the best IPTV apps out there for sure. But it does not have anywhere close to the amount of features as Tivimate. Yes, Tivimate doesn’t have timeshift and for that, it deserves to be ridiculed. But in my eyes it is still the best out there and isn’t even close. Once the Tivimate developer adds time shift, users will have the best of all worlds.
Probably never happen then. Because whoever Alex sold it to is just screwing it up at this point.
I continue to watch for news on them adding more features on Tivimate Discord, but the only thing they have done is basically cosmetic. I really hope the new owner doesn’t let the app go downhill…it is still the most feature-rich IPTV player by a long shot.
Hey TJ Alex never sold the app or even rights to it.
I thought the conclusion we came up with in here was that we assumed it was under new ownership. I don’t see Alex posting anymore in Discord, I just assumed that was what happened.
Alex has delisted all of his accounts including Discord. He has gone underground, so to speak, as he was tired of the idiotic mundane feature requests and negative comments from those who had no idea how to even use Tivimate. I tracked him down months ago and it tooka lot of time. I can’t remember exactly where I finally found him. MDA or such I think.
I sure thought that’s what has happened. At least that’s what Ive been told by some other Devs. Big hiccup yesterday with 5.1.6 Don’t mess it up Please!
Lots of rumours, not true ones. Quote from a couple of months ago>
What lies ahead for TiviMate? Alex returns with an upgraded UI and a new website. The community is eager for TiviMate to keep pace with competitors like IMplayer and Sparkel, who attract many TiviMate users with features like autosync, web app control, better recording, and live shift. What does the TiviMate community need if Alex continues updating the app? OR If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it
Let’s hope so! If all else fails revert to 4.7 That seems to work. Timeshift would be nice but catch up does almost the same thing
I think it was in the XDA forums that I finally tracked him down.
Thanks for the info. Is there a how to use it after you get it setup? I can’t figure out how to add channels to a favorites list. I’m using a onn 4k pro. Any help or how to would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!!
