I need help with VPN blockers

I been using IPVanish to hide my IP address. The past couple of months it hasn’t worked correctly. It drags the internet speed so slow that I cant open the IPTV. I tried Surfshark, Express VPN and Nord VPN. All have the same results. When I am in these services I cant open up the IPTV. I haven’t changed my internet package. Do I need a bigger modem? What do you guys thinks. I recently changed from a Firestick to an ONN 4k Pro streaming box. It is awesome but the same results. Help!

Please do not name unverified IPTV services in open forum. It violates the rules.

Do you really need to use a VPN?

Absolutely Yes.

Using the default VPN setting may be the problem.

Use this tutorial as a guide to change settings of your VPN,

If your IPTV doesn’t work at all with a VPN on check with your provider. Some are ip locked. That may be your problem. I haven’t messed with a VPN for quite some time now.

I’ve never used a vpn while streaming…ever and no problems so far

I’ve always refused to ever connect without an active VPN and never had any issues.

In this forum, the use of a VPN is highly suggested, recommended and encouraged by Troy, especially when streaming from torrents and potentially unverified IPTV sources. The issue with the VPN naysayers in this thread, is that it doesn’t solve the OP’s issues. We have someone trying to safeguard themselves the right way, we need to try and help figure this out.

Have you played around with the various protocols inside your VPN? I know most use the “automatic” setting, but I found it more beneficial to test each protocol separately. Unfortunately not all ISPs have topline infrastructure and up to date code, so there are variables that will affect your connections and speed. So test them one by one. Wireguard, TCP, UDP and so on. Pick a server location close to you and test the protocols one by one and note your speeds. Do the same on both or all VPNs you’re using. You may just find that suddenly you hit the trifecta and find the sweet spot for speeds.

Have you tested your internet speed without a VPN on to see if you are having issues with your internet provider or your modem? If not, that is where I would start.

Yes. Over 400 Mbps. When I use the different VPN’s it drags it down to 40 -55 Mbps.

Yes. I test the protocols on all. I search and use the lowest ping and load VPN. This worked for awhile and now it is slow like the automatic.

I been using the same VPN for the past 8 years with no issue. The past couple of months it has been an issue. So I tried other services with the same results.

I never use a default VPN and always follow Troypoint guildelines
to setup anything.

I’m assuming you connect using wifi for both old and new devices? Have you tried an ethernet connection to see if it helps speed? I’m also assuming you have done a full reboot/reset of your router, modem and box? I’m trying to think of what SS, Express, Nord and IPV all have in common that they could so dramatically downgrade performance just out of the blue.

Yes. I tried both ethernet and wifi. On the ONN 4k box the speed is faster on wifi compared to ethernet. Yes I rebooted and reset router, modem and box. I used IP Vanish for a long time with the drag and it was working until the last couple of months.

I use Proton VPN and it has speed up tech built in. I have used it for a few years now and my rated speed from my ISP is 150Mbs down and I get anywhere from 145 to 165, everyday. Servers all over the world that they own. No virtual servers, all brick and mortar.
