Got it done. Temporary (I hope) brain cramp. Do I want LM or Projectivy Launcher used when I press the HOME button? It keeps asking me and I keep saying JUST ONCE because I forget what the ALWAYS choice should be. Thank you.

You want Projectivy and choose Always. Projectivy is the launcher that replaces the Amazon launcher.

Thank you. I was gonna go back through the initial video and look. Not sure why this just happened but I fixed it!

My menu seems to be different that yours on the app.

Hello, after you update via the instructions in the video it should look just like mine.

What’s the advantage of using a launch manager other than Amazon’s? The TroyPoint website says “for those wanting to install custom launchers, block updates, disable app blacklisting and more”. Maybe what I use my FireStick for I don’t need it. I use it for Prime Video, Kodi (Umbrella), IPTV, SharkVPN. Am I missing a use case? thanks!

It’s another level of customization on these devices. I’m sure many people still use Amazon’s stock launcher…nothing wrong with that. I’m just spoiled and will not use a device unless I can put my own launcher on it and organize my apps. Amazon launcher is basically nothing but them trying to make you spend money, so that’s why most of us prefer to see something else on our home screens.

Honestly I don’t feel a need to use a Launcher. whether it back in the day when I first started with Firesticks or now with my ONN 4K Pro’s whatever device or box I use is just a conduit to either KODI, my IPTV services, or other apps. When I boot up my box I’m on the main screen for maybe 10 seconds. I don’t use any of the Free TV or anything else on the ONN

Yeah if you don’t use many apps no need for a launcher but I have a lot of apps so it helps alot. I also like being able to long press any app and go directly to the settings where I can clear cache, force stop, or uninstall. I also have it setup to show my own pics for backgrounds and like that. Plus the nav seems faster.

Most use it to hide the huge ads and all of the clutter. It is just a nicer cleaner experience.

Then the extra benefit is you get to be a rebel and stick it to the man and do what you want with a box you paid for.

I hate to be the one to bear the likely bad news, and I sincerely hope I’m wrong, but I don’t think the app is going to last long. I think Amazon will eventually realize the approval was a mistake and pull the app.

Agreed!

not working…just tries to load

I use projectivy on firestick but now I can’t use Prime Video because it wants me to update before I can open

I managed to block address on my router, I tried installing on an old 4k max gen 1 and all worked. I tried on my 4kmax 2nd gen and I can’t get it to load…. I have Fire OS 8.1.5.3 is this a problem?

I tried downloading a few days ago and it did not work

I’m new here just bought stick will this work?

Would the ONN be better?
