How to Update Stremio on Firestick, Android TV, & Google TV

Have had Stemio on the ONN stick for a year with no problems.

Downloader may be the issue, that’s why I suggested to make sure the install unknown apps is turned on. Also the checking to make sure you are updating with the proper source is because there are jow a 64 bit as well as 32 bit Stremio. No harm in checking and then we can maybe figure out other options. The parser issue may also have been a simple corrupt transfer. These are electronics so gremlins happen. Give it another go. Are you using a VPN? If so try turning ot off before updating and if Surfshark try with the cleanweb off.

Need help anyone, when I download Stremio from TP toolbox, it will not open, telling me to link account

I just checked my account and I already have 1.7.4. How did that happen? Stremio doesn’t update automatically, or does it?? I certainly didn’t update to the newest version myself. I thought I still had the previous one that I remember going out of my way to update earlier this year.

Do you have Google play protect and auto updates enabled? About the only reason I can think of.

I get a notification when I have updates and then I go into Google Play and choose which ones to update. I always thought I had to manually update Stremio. Weird! I’ll try to figure it out…

I have turned off the updating completely, notices included. I just check once a week. Let us know what you find. Curious now.

Hello, I had same exact thing happen to me when I made the update video and you can see that on the following page. Yes, it auto-updates if your settings allow for that on your android box since the app is available in Google Play…for now. I have a feeling it will be removed eventually and at that point the only way to update will be manually.

I have 3 Firesticks 4K Max. Last Saturday I updated to Stremio 1.7.4 thru the Troypoint tools and Downloader.

2 of the sticks worked fine, one refuss to install the update.Tried downloading directly from Stremio but same thing happes. a message saying ā€œAPP NOT INSTALLEDā€

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Updating Stremio regularly definitely helps avoid buffering issues, especially on Firestick. For people who use multiple streaming apps, I’ve noticed that some Android-based apps don’t auto-update as smoothly, so I usually check their latest builds manually.

While exploring alternatives, I’ve been testing Cinema HD on Android TV as well — mainly to compare performance with Stremio after updates. If anyone wants to see how the latest version behaves on different devices, here’s the source I used: https://www.cinemahdapkdownload.com/

Curious if anyone else here switches between Stremio and other apps after updates to compare stability?

@TROYPOINT Looks like Stremio version 1.8.0 has been released. Please update the Toolbox site when you get a moment. Happy Thanksgiving!

Good heavens. Mine is already 2.1.3.

Looks like this was a part of a mega update for all versions. Link below is for all updates. Miki looks like 2.1.3 is for Android mobile. Dogg is showing Android TV.

My BuzzTV P6L is V 1.7.3 on Android TV and doesn’t show any update for me yet.

Thank you!

Toolbox has been updated for both 32-bit and 64-bit devices.

Ever since I bought my Buzz box I have been side-loading Stremio.

Thanks Troy. Updated my 64 bit version.

I updated to Stremio 1.9.4 ( i think it was) the other day on firestick. And exo or vlc player are not working to play episodes of series. Any ideas?
