How to Update Stremio on Firestick, Android TV, & Google TV

Did you install any addons?

Basically delete Watch Hub.

Seem to be having trouble getting stremio to work on my onn4k box..Is anyone else there too?

Downloader will not install the new 1.9.8 Stremio version.Followed the toolbox stable release 32 bit for the Onn 4K Pro. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried uninstalling your old version first???

I did not. Troy said to install from the toolbox, with the new version. You can see it tries to install, but goes to delete installation files.

Context in Version History

The 1.9.x series has been a major overhaul period for Stremio:

  • v1.9.1 - v1.9.4: Introduced a significant UI/UX refresh, added device clock displays, and improved subtitle filtering.

  • v1.9.10 (Beta): Released alongside v1.9.8 stable, this version introduced MPV player as an optional engine, Usenet support, and progressive seeking.

Note: If you are experiencing performance issues like stuttering or crashing on older hardware (such as the Nvidia Shield 2017), some users in the community have reported better stability by rolling back to v1.7.0 or v1.6.x until further optimisations are released.

I found this worked for me, I had the same issue as you.

Nice guide overall—pretty straightforward and easy to follow. I like that it focuses on using the latest stable version since updates usually fix bugs and improve performance

Stremio ATV has now been updated to 1.10.2. Changelog is below…

Thank you.

Apps have been updated in the TROYPOINT Toolbox.

FYI for Fire Tv users: With latest update you will now see your addons. With previous versions your were not able to see your addons and only had the option to Sync.
