Does anyone know if Troy has talked about this or maybe how to do this? To take control of someone else’s TV/streaming device through the internet? I would like to set some things up for a friend that lives a distance away from me.
I have not used it but know a few that do, I was going to set it up but then figured the person I would need to help is not that far away.
search Rcloudsystems
It works pretty good.
Fascinating question. Save all of us countless troubleshooting visits to mom & dad.
Wondering if the ADB (Android Debug Bridge) built into most streaming devices could make it work? You would first try to get a PC to recognize the device via a USB connection. If you get the physical connection open and working, and you have Developer Options + USB Debugging enabled on the device, in theory ADB would give you full control — including installing/uninstalling apps, running commands, and changing settings.
The remote person would need remote access to the connected PC (via TeamViewer, AnyDesk, etc.), to use ADB through that PC to control the device. The connected PC would also need to be enabled to execute commands on the device; would be done by downloading and installing Android Platform Tools** from Google. Through Team Viewer, you would remotely download and save the app apk on the PC connected to the device, then use the Tools to install the apk.
** is there a TP topic covering these tools?
Be interested to hear from the TP tech wizards on feasibility.
Rcloudsystems works check it out.
There was a post/tutorial on this last year. I believe the app was called Vysor. Do a search for it.
Yes that is correct. This article is a bit outdated but may still work for remote access - How to Remotely Control Firestick or Fire TV from Anywhere (Cool Trick)
Rcloudsystems worked good for me on several devices to view and control them remotely from a pc. I believe TDUK has a video about it if you do a google search
I use it and has great support.
Time flies………. apparently, it was 4 years ago!!!

I also highly recommend RCloudsystems. It has saved me so much time and aggravation and the Customer Support and instructions are top notch.
I totally agree, someone should do a review on RCLOUDSYSTEMS?
Does ADB debugging have to be enabled on the device you are connecting to and controlling?
Yes sir.
Thanks for the reply. I was afraid of that. Do you know of any way to enable ADB remotely?
I tried Rcloudsystems several times back when the creator was first introducing it. He actually walked me through the setup as we messaged back and forth for a couple of weeks. I bought multiple licenses at three dollars each, and they would expire after every failed attempt.
When I finally got it working, I discovered there was no way to control the TV screen with the Fire TV Stick remote—you had to navigate everything with a keyboard. When I mentioned this, the developer said he was working on adding proper remote support. Maybe he’s perfected it by now.
You’re most welcome. Unfortunately I don’t, because part of the set up is the person on the other end has to enable it and then be there when you attempt to connect because there is a pop up that must answered to continue. Sorry, wish I could be more help sir.
Maybe it’s your firestick, I have 3 devices hooked up and have no issues?
Morning M, just wondering if there is an app that boosts audio for ONN devices, my sister-in-law mentioned she has to turn up her tv volume to 70?
