How to record to t95z plus with tivimate

I purchased the t95z plus with 128g from temu per Troy’s review. I installed tivimate but can’t get it to record. Any suggestions on what I need to do to get it to record?

I also purchased one and having the same issue only manual record, not only that with wolf launcher will not connect SS or privacy dot on reboot, same with Projectivy launcher, but in Pro launcher I can then start SS to launch and then hit home but pri dot no. Monitor Dot will not load

What do you mean when you say, ‘manual record’? I can’t get it to record anything on tivimate. I tried using a usb thinking I could get that to work - no luck. On Nvidia Shield, you have the option when setting up to record of ‘system picker’. You then get into a separate screen that allows you to pick what drive - i.e. USB. ‘System picker’ does not show on this unit. What use is 128gb of storage space if you can’t record to it. By the way, Troy made special mention that the 128gb of space comes in handy for those that like to record. He even makes mention of being in developer options, that there is no need to force usb access because of the amount of space. Pretty disappointing if I can’t find a solution. The unit works fine, but with the storage I was expecting to be able to record. Totally Frustrated!

Are you talking about recording with tivimate or something else? I believe Troy should respond to this issue. You said, ‘manual record’. Just not sure what you meant. Sorry. Please clarify. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Recording should have nothing to do with the Box. It is done in Tivimate. I have 2 older T95Z’s and in the 1 or 2 times I’ve had to record in Tivimate it hasn’t been an issue

I believe it an android 12 problem ,everything works on my shield pro
elbucho watching a show and then started to record , when i try to program with epg and time ,get notification on program ready ,later go into download recording , nothing

I tried many times to record with tivimate. It says that it will record to the end of the program, but I go back later to see if it did. It says it recorded 1 minute with an exclamation point. Try to play it, and I get nothing. I’ve tried it with the box off in suspend mode (assuming that means sleeping and not powered down) and on while watching another channel… All with the same result - NOTHING.

I have no problem recording on my Shield, or for that matter my BuzzTv. On my Shield I record to a usb. With Buzz, record to the internal drive, with large capacity. By the way, the Buzz was also a reviewed and suggested product by Troy. It may be android 12 but there should be a workaround as with everything else. I wish Troy would look into this.

the newer T95Z boxes have android 12 the older boxes have android 10…android 12 has placed new restrictions on what the box can access internally…you no longer have access to system picker option on 12 using tivimate so you cannot pick a place to record your streams like you could on android 10
the sparkle app has no such restriction on android 12 as it uses a different file structure so can chose to record to external drive
the dev for tivimate could fix this? but doesn’t seem to be active anymore?
the dev for the sparkle app is hungry and updates his app on a regular basis

thanks, but is 13,14 & 15 the same or similar to 12? will this work? Leary to try unless I know for sure.

If you read it from the beginning it explains the steps from droid 11 through to 15. I can’t personally confirm it does or doesn’t work on a T95Z as I don’t yet have one to try it on. I should have one in about 10 days though. Sorry I can’t yet give you precise answers,and until I can do it myself, or someone here can, I can’t give anyone any guarantees. All we can do is try. Eventually we’ll get a method figured out.

Thanks for the info about Sparkle TV. I purchased the plus version yesterday, and it worked like a charm (recording). That appears to be the solution. Thanks again.

      IMPORTANT NOTICE: TIVIMATE SYSTEM PICKER FIXED

With the new TiViMate 5.0.0 Update it has been confirmed that you can now access the System Picker on the T95Z and set your recording to where you want.
A big shout out to @Comtech for his assistant in testing this. Thanks.

One problem. I may be doing something wrong, but I select system picker in tivimate and it jumps right back out. It doesn’t let me do anything. Tried multiple times. Is there something I need to do in say, developer options? Please Help!

I don’t have a T95Z. Send a PM to @Comtech and ask him as he has one and said it’s working.

Open X-Plore app and open Internal shared storage, scroll down to Download, then down to Tivimate folder and create a sub folder Recordings,
Now open Tivimate set up recording folder in Tivimate and select :
/storage/emulated/0/Download/Tivimate/Recordings

This worked for me, good luck.
P.S. this was on a new T95z plus Android 12 w/ 4g ram and 128 storage
