TorBox has run onto a number of issues this April and have not resolved them all. They have apologized in Github and will be giving everyone with a paid sub 14 extra days. Work is ongoing so I suggest just Using the API as @Masterofmydomain suggested in other addons, but don’t expect everything to work perfectly. Patience will be necessary but I am confident they will get all the coding and fixes done. Not sure on the timeline though.
Thank you both for the advice.
Yes I am currently using the addon, although I didn’t expect to focus on what to do once it’s been discontinued as, as I understand it, there was around a months worth maybe two before they pulled the plug on it.
Also, I followed the video tutorial of Troy’s, which showed me how to use the Bootstrapper Account Stremio tool to allow the setting up of TorBox with Torrentio and Comet etc.
Being a newbie to this, I was wondering whether or not I’ve done all that I can do at the moment, and the rest involves waiting for TorBox to fix what they need to fix to resolve 100%, the issues that they have?
In the meantime, I’ve had a look at the configuration page of Torrentio, and this is what I see on screen.
Based on this, should I change any of the settings to help with obtaining the best possible streams on Stremio?
There are also a further two options that I’m not able to show, as it would expose my API key, and these are “Don’t show download to debrid links”, which is unchecked, and “Don’t show debrid catalog”, which is checked.
Should I change these at all, or leave them as they are?
Regards
The changes are up to you. TorBox will be done by July 1st but that just the stand alone addon. The API key will still work. I exclude any sources below 1080 but if you have AI upscaling then you could include 720. The rest looks good. I do set my priority language to English as I don’t want every foreign language source that has a language I don’t understand.
Thanks Miki for checking over the configuration settings that I tweaked on Torrentio. It’s very much appreciated.
As it happens I’ve mentioned TorBox to a friend of mine who is very keen to give it a try, although he currently only uses a free VPN whilst surfing the Internet.
Due to this, would he be taking a huge risk if he tried streaming movies and TV series’s without one of Troy’s recommended VPN providers, or is he good to go with the free one?
Regards
BTW, he has been using Mozilla’s offering on the Firefiox browser.
Hey Sean, we definitely recommend using a Premium VPN as those Free VPNs always come with a catch. This might help explain it more: Are Free VPNs Safe? What Firestick Users Need to Know
If you are going to use a free VPN then the only one I could suggest is Proton VPN. But you should seriously look at a paid version Troy has had a SurfShark special on and I Think it worked out to under 7 cents a day. That is crazy cheap and worth every penny. I highly recommend a paid VPN and I have had one forever. Free VPNs are often overloaded and result in unwanted issues like buffering.
I am having issues configuring MediaFusion. I think I have followed all Troy’s tutorials correctly…using TorBox and Real-Debi’s both as providers…but when discovering tv stations under ’LiveTV’ nothing shows up. I’m sure I’m doing something wrong. What am I missing?
I’m trying to use this instead of USA TV s as most of those channels seem to be non functional from it no longer being updated.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Debrid services are not for live TV. They are for cached VOD. Have you configured your catalogue for Live TV? Have a look at this for an alternative.
Thank you for the timely reply Miki. I started down this rabbit hole when USA TV quit working, and I still have a lot to understand with streaming. I saw that it said ‘live tv’, and didn’t understand that debrid services have nothing to do with this function. I think I have configured catalog for live tv selected, but somehow only get these non-working UK channels. lol. But then most tutorials say there is a pro button, and I thought I missed a setting because of this. I have other means of getting regular net work channels, but like I said. when USA TV started to fail I wanted another comparable service on my Stremio. The Watchio has some of these networks but looks incomplete for CBS, NBC etc. Watchio is pretty vast catalog so I was going to treat library like a favorites folder and save what I wanted there? I’ve ben over the MediaFusion set up many times trying slightly different selections in configurations, still to no availe. I’m expecting the Queen of Hearts and Mad Hatter to show up at any moment!..lol
I think Media Fusion has a paid service, and if I remember correctly you may need that for better live TV. I honestly moved on from Media fusion. There are sites that help with its config if you do an online search. Of course an IPTV sub is the best solution for live TV.
Hi all,
Since subscribing to TorBox, I’ve been busy utilising it on Stremio through the various addons that I’ve added such as Torrentio and Comet for streaming purposes.
However, over the last few days, things have become somewhat frustrating, as I can’t seem to get the streams for either to work.
With Torrentio, the links for the streams have disappeared altogether.
As for Comet, whenever I click on a link to watch what I want to watch, I’m faced with this message on screen:
I’ve checked with a friend of mine who is using TorBox on his Stremio app as well, and he’s been having the same issue with Torrentio, so I’m assuming that the service must be down for now, and it’s simply a waiting game with it until it’s back up and running again.
However, the same can’t be said for Comet, as he’s finding working streams without a problem.
The question that I have is, has anyone come across the above message before, and what do I need to do to resolve the issue in order to continue using Comet on Stremio?
Any and all assistance and advice that could be provided, with regard to the my enquiry, would be greatly appreciated.
Regards
Yes, I get it on at least 1/2 the streams I try. I have Stremio with Torrentio, Comet, Medifusion, Torz, AIO streams. I had Real Debrid but switched to Premiumize. It works better but am getting the same issues as you. Most of the streams on Kodi (POV, Umbrella) work but they are all debrid streams.
I’m using AioStreams Nightly and Surf Shark (San Jose server). I just enabled Torrentio and Comet and all content plays fine.
Thank you both for getting back to me with your Stremio experiences, positive or negative.
I haven’t installed the AIO addon so I’ll definitely get this as a backup or maybe even bump it up to being top of my list for streaming.
dogg5150: Is Nightly like Torrentio, Comet etc or something else entirely?
It’s interesting to learn that you’ve had no issues with any one of the ones that I use, especially if you’ve also been using TorBox to stream through Stremio.
I’ll set my Surf Shark VPN to San Jose and see where it gets me.![]()
The Nightly AIOstreams is just another version of AIOStreams that allows Torrentio to be added. The ELF AioStreams doesn’t allow you to add Torrentio. Or easier setup of Aiostreams, you would use Duck Streams (also allows Torrentio). Go here for Duck Streams setup: https://troypoint.com/duck-streams-stremio-addon-with-quickstart/
Go here for AioStreams Nightly:AIOStreams
I’ll try the SS San Jose server.
San Francisco also working with Torrentio.
Thanks, I’ll try that one too. The east coast servers (including Canada) aren’t showing Torrentio at all.
It’s been said before that Torrentio is finicky with VPN’s. What I’ve been doing is litterly using the hot button I mapped out, turning off my VPN, going back to the show and voila, they all show up. Once again, quickly turn the VPN back on and stream from them. Works perfectly, small annoyance but will once again say, don’t disgregard Onstream as it will steam flawlessly anything Torrentio doesn’t and even shows that don’t show up quite yet on Stremio that is still my fav app. I don’t have the patience for Kodi even though I used it in it’s first incarnations on a pc decades ago Unless you have a debrid account, it’s a waste of time to set up and be disappointed. I don’t, not yet as I don’t need one.
