How to get live sports on MediaFusion? After loading on Stremio?
Hi Forumites,
Iāve recently started using Stremio with the Torrentio addon on a Mac Mini and, honestly, Iāve come to a realisation that, having been put off by the daunting task of getting to grips with it in the first place, it has been pretty much what I was looking for when using a computer rather than an Android streaming device.
However, Iāve been faced with an issue on a number of occasions lately, whereby the Torrentio links to the TV programme that I wanted to watch, simply disappeared from view the next time that I searched for the subsequent episode of the series.
Iāve tried the usual uninstalling and reinstalling method for resolving the problem, and Iāve had some success when doing this, but it doesnāt always solve the problem.
These intermittent issues have led me to try another addon based on the recommendations as suggested by Troypoint in relation to Stremio, which is Mediafusion.
However, whereas Torrentio is pretty much straightforward in terms of its configuration and its installation to Stremio, Mediafusion feels a little more like a minefield of choices on first impressions when entering the website.
This has resulted in my opting to refer to the Troypoint Insider forum for some guidance as to where I go next with this.
The first thing Iād like to point out is that, from what I can tell, the website layout and look appears to be different to what Iāve seen in the tutorial pictures on Troypoint.
In light of this, I was hoping to get some assistance on the forum as to how to configure Mediafusion v5.4.8 before I go ahead with installing it on Stremio.
Secondly, Iāve also received an email from the Mediafusion guys, and one of the recommendations that is contained therein, is for me to use a resolver such as Real Debrid, rather than turning to the free streams that are available in the likes of Torrentio and Comet etc.
In the opinion of the forum, is this the best way to go, rather than relying on what Iāve always tended to rely on in the past, which is watching those streams that are freely available on Stremio through using the Torrentio and Comet addons to name a couple?
Any and all information and advice that can be imparted with regard to my enquiry, would be greatly appreciated.
Hi all,
Ok, so my previous post is something that has been rendered virtually defunct by a little more research and some helpful guides that were sent to my email address courtesy of ElfHosted.
Their recommendation is to avoid going the P2P and HTTP route, as youāll open yourself up to ābecoming a participant in the swarm.ā
In light of this, should I avoid using Torrentio altogether, or is it relatively safe to use if youāve kitted yourself out with the right VPN and Antivirus, which in my case is Surfshark and VIPRE?
They also go on to say that the likes of Real Debrid and Torbox would be the ideal providers to turn to, although this is slightly at odds with Troyās No 1 pick which is Premiumize, which is not what they would recommend ordinarily?
My question on Real Debrid is, is it wise to avoid signing up to this provider due to the subsequent complications that arose because of the legal wrangles it faced not so long ago?
If the answer to that question is yes, then which one out of Premiumize and Torbox should I subscribe to, bearing in mind that ElfHosted states that, as a rule, they ādonāt test or supportā the likes of Premiumize amongst other providers that are mentioned on Troypoint?
Iām hoping that some guidance will come my way from the Forumites, to stop my head from spinning when trying to work out the best options to choose from, in relation to the Mediafusion minefield.
TIA.
I am a KODI user donāt use Stremio. But to address your debrid question have used Real Debrid for about 6-7 years. Pay with a personal credit card have absolutely no worries and no concerns. RD, Torbox, Premiumize all do the same thing when it comes to providing streaming sources. But then again Iām way less paranoid or concerned with most things others are here at the Insider. Just giving you my viewpoint
Thank you SoloWarrior for your input into the wonderful world of cord cutting. Itās very much appreciated.
As it turns out, I was wondering about payments and how to go about making these, when using a service such as Real Debrid.
So, in your opinion, is using a Credit Card the most secure and safest way to pay for the service?
Sign up for Privacy.com and pay for RD or Torbox. By paying with virtual credit card, RD or Torbox wonāt have your personal information. You can put bogus info for name and address when prompted.
You might check to see if your bank has virtual credit cards ā¦thatās what I use for Real Debrid.
Just FYI. I donāt use ElfHosted anymore. I did when I first started learning, but moved on quickly as I needed more options without paying to avoid what is listed as āfairā use. I have Premiumize, TorBox and RD. I use Torrentio all the time with all 3 debrid APIs enabled and torrentio in DuckStreams. Troy has lots of vids and tuts on free addons that work perfectly. Free being the operative word, and no limits. In the TorBox panel you can choose not to seed. I do agree debrid services can be the way to go but I certainly donāt ignore torrents if needed.
I would just get Torbox. Best bang for buck as you can share your account with friends and family. Also RD is willing to share your info if subpoenaed. I donāt recommend using Torrentio due its popularity and blocking of VPNās. It also has reliability issues time to time. Check out Debridio, itās $10 a year. Less down time than Torrentio and no rate limit. Elfhosted addons like Mediafusion, Comet, Strem Thru Torz have rate limits unless you sign up with them for $10 a month. I have bunch a people using Debridio.
Yeah I have no issues using a personal credit card for RD and no concern that they are going to turn my info in to anyone. But thatās me a lot here have other views on this.
I must be lucky. I use Nord VPN and never once had my VPN blocked. Servers get overloaded I just find another one. I find in DuckStreams the Torrentio addon has been outstanding. They did have a few issues a couple of weeks back but so have others and eventually they get resolved. TorBox does get a lot of positive publicity but donāt expect top notch encodes right away. They are often slow to get them out. Even TorBox has had their issues. Patience in this hobby is almost a must. Have fun and Stream On!!!
Thanks for all the helpful replies to my post. Itās very much appreciated.
Ok, so Iāve decided on plumping for signing up with TorBox and using this through Stremio, although there is a notice on Troyās How To Configure & Install TorBox Stremio Addon tutorial which states the following:
What exactly does this mean for someone such as myself who is less familiar with the terminology?Does it mean that TorBox will no longer be useable with Stremio or is there a workaround that the notice doesnāt go into which would still allow me to use Stremio with the provider?
It also looks as though you canāt use virtual cards that can be generated by the likes of Privacy.com or Revolut either, which is the route that I was going to take to keep my personal and banking details private and therefore more secure.
Iāve looked at the prospect of using a gift card to pay, and so was wondering, what exactly, are the pros and cons of using this method?
Failing using a gift card, should I just go ahead with using my PayPal Debit Card to purchase the Essential Plan?
There is also something else that Iāve discovered through using Stremio, which is that it isnāt hugely compatible with the iPad OS.
In light of this, what is the easiest workaround that can be utilised for me to be able to stream on that platform?
Cheers in advance.
With Stremio, one of the more popular add ons is Torrentio. You can install this add on and use Torbox, RD, or PM etc. Here is the link below for it⦠As far as credit cards go, I used my Capitol One credit card and used a virtual card for the purchase. Worked without issues. Not sure what you have available to you.
There are two things at play in Stremio. Up until now you can add TorBox into Stremio as an individual and independent addon that you could fully configure, seperate from any other addon, and it would scrape for sources by itself. Now they are removing that addon completely and it will no longer have an addon you can see and configure. Part of that addon has always been the API key (Application Program Interface) which you can find in your TorBox dashboard. This is a series of letters and numbers that you can copy and add/paste into other addons that have the option to integrate a debrid service or services. Such as Comet, sootio and MediaFusion. There are many debrid services but basically 3 that most here in TP use. Those are RealDebrid (RD), TorBox(TB) and Premiumize(PM) each of which has its own API key. Each service provides the same basic function and that is giving you access to a DB of āCachedā sources, for the addon you have enabled them in, to scrape and provide you a source to choose, so you can watch the Vid you are looking for. So although TorBox will no longer have an independent addon it will still have an API key that you can use in other Addons like MediaFusion. Have a great buffer free weekend
Thank you MOMD for your input and advice.
I do have a Capitol One credit card as it turns out, but it doesnāt have the option to generate a virtual card for us UK residents, unfortunately.
Privacy.com is a no go for me too, as it is only applicable to US cord cutters, and doubly so as TorBox forbids the use of masked cards from them anyway.
Iām pretty much ready to pull the trigger on buying the Essential Plan, but Iām always wary of giving out too much in terms of my financial and personal details.
That is why Iād like to learn some more about Gift Cards and what the upside and potential downside they have when using them.
Thank you Miki for the information and advice that you posted in response to my mine. Itās very much appreciated.
So, if Iāve read you correctly, I can still use TorBox just not on Stremio?
Is there a reason why they are discontinuing this useful addon of theirs for Stremio?
Thank you also for the link that shows me how to be able to use Stremio ion my iPad.
Iāll have a look at this, which will hopefully be all Iāll need in my quest to cut the cord some more.
Yes you can still use TorBox in Stremio, just not as a seperate addon. Instead you add the TorBox API key in other addons like MediaFusion. MediaFusion requires you to do a lot of configuration in order to make it to your liking. Troy goes through the process. Just open it and click your way around to find what you need. Here are some pics I just took showing the adding of the TorBox API key.
Thank you once again for being generous with your time in aid of making my TorBox/Stremio life simpler.
Iāve signed up for TorBoxās Free Plan at the moment which has led me to the point at which I now know that I need to purchase the Essential Plan to couple TorBox with Stremio.
Iāve emailed their support in order to obtain some assistance, as to which way I should go when it comes to paying for their paid services.
I get the feeling that using my PayPal Debit Card will be the path of least resistance in terms of making it easy on myself, as Iām unfamiliar with paying with Gift Cards, Cryptocurrency etc.
