This tutorial will provide you with instructions to install the Beast Kodi Build on your preferred device. This includes popular streaming devices such as the Amazon Firestick, Android TV/Google TV Boxes, and other Kodi devices. “The Beast” is one of the most popular Kodi builds of all time, and it is now compatible with Kodi…
How funny, I started my streaming with Kodi and The Beast addon back in 2017. A friend gifted me a firestick loaded with the Beast. It crashed one day and I moved to something easier. Kodi required too much of my brain power, so I moved to independent apps for my streaming now.
I tried it on a Troy Fork. Wasn’t impressed. Seemed a bit slow/bloated. I am probably a little biased since i prefer the build i use but I am not married to it. Lol
The Non Debrid seemed to work ok but i couldnt find where to log into RD. May be because i am used to using Account Manager but i gave up.
Been meaning to load The Beast up on a Fork and check it out. Typically you Authorize RD in Resolve URL. No idea how this Build is layed out but it’s usually System - Resolve URL - Choose 2nd resolver and RD will be 2nd one in
Yeah so i tried that and was able to get RD authorized to The Crew but other addons weren’t set up.
I then authorized the RD addon and got access to another addon but not all of them.
Too much work to set up all the addons. And the ones i use arent even there. No FEN, Umbrella, AfFENity or Coalition , my top goto addons.
Trust me once you use Account Manager in Diggz it makes authorizing RD and Trakt a breeze. One time code set up and just use it to manage the addons.
Besides that, I wasn’t fan of the layout.
To each their own but I’ll pass for now. I know it is popular but it’s not for me.
Yeah I looked at Digzz and it’s not for me. I’ve been with Grindhouse for over 5 years. Simple builds that work. Digzz had way too much bloatware for me. And in the Build I use you Authorize RD one time in the Build not each Addon. But use what you like
I know you are loyal to Grindhouse and i wasnt trying to change your mind. Just making observations about the Beast build.
Is there a Grindhouse build you recommend? I see there are lot to choose from. Are they basically the same with different look/theme or all different developers/addons?
I dont mind trying something. For what ever reason the GH repo is in the diggz build so it was an easy switch.
Installed this today on my ONN 4K Pro using the 21 KODI Fork from the Toolkit. Nice Build lot’s of Addons and has the 3 I use the Most (Umbrella, Homelander, and The Crew) and several others. The only thing I did not like was unlike my current Grindhouse Builds where I only have to authorize RD one time with this Build you need to Authorize RD within each Addon you want to use but not really a Big Deal
Hey if ya like trying out different builds like me lol try some of the builds in 709 wizard. https://zaxxon709.github.io/repo/
Install wizard from repo in programs category.
Thanks. Yeah the 7 of 9 repo is available in the diggs builds. I’ll give some a try.
Does beast work with no debrid if not can anyone suggest a build that is compatible without using debrid please
I’m giving Elementum a test run. Works good. Having minor issues like 4K vids closing Kodi. But that could simply be that they’re DD and my Samsung only takes HDR. Haven’t completely tested it and the settings available in Kodi and the Addon are almost limitless.
Hey @Miki I have Elementum installed in the Beast Build on Troy’s 21 Fork. Just tested a few 4K movies and all good on my end
Are you DD capable? With Samsung I only get HDR or HDR10+ although I do get full Atmos sound. So I have to choose non Dolby Digital only content. I’m going to run some more tests, but I assume that’s all it is, as I always run 4K HDR10+ if available, and in Kodi I did that last night for a vid. Oh and once again I want to be sure and thankyou for pushing me back into trakt as this is the first time using it in Kodi and it is amazing. Big learning curve.
@Miki sorry when it comes to that stuff DD, Dolby digital I’m fricking clueless. I just picked 4K streams and they worked fine. They always do. My Samsung is 4 K HDR I do know that.
Lol. All good my friend. I’ve gone deep into the settings and removed a ton of stuff I don’t need like any vid less than 720, and setting up my sound to 7.1 and so on. So I’m still not entirely sure why certain 4k kicked me out. But I’ll figure it out eventually. Today I’m going to see what the playback looks like to play a recording from TiViMate. Just curious as I can access my USB SSD where I will record some of the upcoming Olympic games.
Samsung doesn’t use Dolby Vision it uses their own setup. HDR+ i think its called.
@Miki There is an addon called MaxQL available from Zaxxon709 repo that will allow you to set up your search results in advance. Instead of needing to set up each addon individually.
Max resolution (4k, 1080 etc)
Enable/Disable Dolby Vision Enable/Disable 3D and
Enable/Disable Auto play
I dont know of it needs to be set up after its installed because its already part of the build i use.
Thank you for your suggestions. I’ve found and modified all the necessary settings I need like HDR10+ only. 7.1Atmos, and so on. Even found where to specify English only vids and forced subs etc. I am using both Trakt and TMDB but Trakt is by far my fave. Libraries set up, search parameters and so on. The multitude of options are crazy good.
How does The Beast compare to Diggz? Particularly in regard to live TV add ons
