How to Install & Setup Stremio on Firestick/Android

Thank you! Getting rid of watch hub did speed things up.

I setup a different because of this confusing explanation of sharing on different ip address.

  • Data Usage Monitoring:

Premiumize uses a point system to manage data consumption. You start with a certain number of points, which are replaced daily. If the points run out, no one can stream until they are replenished.

  • Sharing Policy:

Sharing your account with people outside your household (friends, family elsewhere, etc.) is prohibited and can lead to suspension of your account.

  • Both Premiumize accounts are paid until February 2026, so I have time to decide.

Thank you again

I looked for Watch Hub in my Bootstrapper set up and it’s not there. I thought perhaps that add on was slowing mine down but I don’t have it to start with.

Hey @mhoss, I get around using up my points by just usinging cached sources unless there aren’t any. PM+ and RD+. Then they don’t count towards your fair use points.

Miki what is the process for using cached points? Thank you.

Cached sources

You just choose the sources that has a ā€œ+" next to the indexer type (e.g. RD+, PM+).

Sources with a download icon or say download are not cached.

Thanks for the assist @mthr1 . Much appreciated. Have a buffer free day.

Thank you. As it turns out, all the sources I’ve using are PM+. Thanks to everyone replying. Best group I’ve ever joined. So glad I became a Patriot in the early days.

Quick and important warning for everyone, I hope this is the right thread.

There is currently a very new addon called ā€œAutoStreamā€ for Stremio. It’s use case is that it only picks ONE single stream, the best one available.
This sounds great for setups for people who feel overwhelmed getting dozens of results with the other addons, and would be as close to a ā€œone-clickā€ solution as possible with Stremio.

HOWEVER, it appears that even if you explicitly add a debrid-service provider such as Torbox, Premiumize, Real Debrid etc., the addon will still use regular torrenting, which is obviously the exact opposite of what anyone using a debrid-service wants.
This is documented here, but nothing has been done to remedy this severe issue yet:

Always use tried and true addons that won’t accidentally or purposefully expose you like that. These would include things such as Torrentio, Torz, Comet or Torbox’s own addon.

I’ve not seen this addon and Stremio is the app I used 99% of the time. I will look at addons in the app and the offical page a bit later.

Interesting. It is a real pain to sort sideways through the sources. It often takes me 2-3 clicks to get a good source and avoid the ā€œdeath catā€.

Good morning Mr. @Wizzard . As soon as I saw this comment I checked out the Community add-ons page and it doesn’t appear in any list I could find. As you know Stremio is all I use for VOD as well. This add-on isn’t even something I would consider using, or adding, as I configure my addons to only select 1080 and up sources, so I never get a huge selection of garbage sources anyway. When finding a good RD+ or PM+ source, for a multi year series, then my Stremio automatically highlights that source every time I move on to the next episode which cuts down tremendously on scrolling through provided sources. I am not entirely sure how this function is triggered but it does seem to happen once I have chosen the same source a couple of times, and as long as that source continues providing streams, for the series, in subsequent episodes. Have a buffer free day my friend.

It is in the most up-to-date community addons, the ones on Stremio itself are very outdated.
The current official site is stremio-addons.net. All addons there are regularly checked and updated, and AutoStream is on there as well.
And @GraceWilson , the ā€œdeath catā€ (it sounds way cuter than it is  ) is usually because of a decoding issue, meaning the media player or the device itself can’t handle the file that’s playing. This also makes sense because the first results are usually the largest that require the most horsepower. You can first try using an external player instead of Stremio’s internal one (such as JustPlayer, Kodi, Mx Player or Vimu, for example), and if that doesn’t work, which means the device itself is the culprit, try limiting the results to only those that the device can handle.

Recent Torrentio issues was also causing the ā€˜Death Cat’.

Ahh that was the beta URL for a time. Thanks for the update, must have become a stable release. The community addons I use is a .com one. This is the community curated addon list one, I have used for years, which is a secure https URL as well. Not sure where those add-ons come from, no corresponding info on who is releasing them.

Looks like Torrentio offline again.

Sec I’ll check. Looks like you are correct

Wow. I did not know the player makes a difference in a source actually playing. I need to try a different player. What do YOU use and @Miki what player do you use?

Since I’m LAZY and use BOOTSTRAPPER out of convenience, I don’t think it’s possible to TWEAK each add on in tremendous detail during the installation as it is if you install one add on at a time.

If I TWEAK Torrentio after my initial BOOTSTRAPPER install, then the Torrentio links go to THE END OF THE SOURCES because you can’t shift the sequence of the add ons around willy nilly after they are installed in Stremio.

Thank you.

I use the default ExoPlayer.
