How to Install FEN/Fen Lite AM on Kodi (New Update 2025)

I am referring to Fen Light AM not the original Fen.

So that’s what happened!!! Nothing showed up, last night, on all three of my boxes for FenLightAM, Dang it!!

How do you fix the problem with trakt and TMDb issues currently on Fenlight AM?

There is also a version that the build developer has but it needs to have a few minor adjustments after you update to it. Not sure if this update is only for his build users or if anyone can use it without needing to make the adjustments.

It has something to do with API keys for trakt and tmdb and being blocked by the original developer of FEN. Not really certain on the issue.

I tested that fix and it was working as well.

It seems you just need to find a working version forked from the original FEN.

From an AI search…
As of May 2026, Fen Light AM (FLAM) and its associated repository are currently offline or experiencing severe issues, with reports of 404 errors during installation and broken search functionality. The fork, developed by FenlightAnonyMouse to replace the original Fen/Fen Light, suffered from revoked API keys and broken Trakt integration. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

Key Details on the Situation (May 2026):

  • Repo Offline: The FenlightAnonyMouse repository is largely inaccessible, leading to failed installation attempts.
  • Key Revocation: Original developer API keys (Trakt, TMDb) were revoked due to security concerns, breaking the service for many.
  • Fix Efforts: Some users have reported success by forcing updates within the settings—Settings > General > Manage add-on updates—or re-authorizing Trakt.
  • Alternatives: Users are shifting to alternative addons like Umbrella or POV due to the instability. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

Is the fenlight AM down? It’s not working anymore??

@Clowie please read my post above for further details.

Did you try one of the versions from the repos I mentioned?

They are both are working for me. I switched between the 2 and no issues.

No, not yet. It’s a busy day for me and won’t even get an opportunity until later today.

Last night I used Twilight which worked fine for me.

I recall, from recent updates, that the dev has been messing around with Trakt and IMDB. The last update was Friday night.

My fen light am has stopped showing any results when performing a search for either tv or movies. I’ve downloaded a version from Bee Queen repo and that’s not working either. Any suggestions?

Ok here is the “Fix” that the Diggz developer has shown in his video. I am not sure if it works for all versions but it does work for 2.2.04 and his Repo version 24.2.03. Try it at your own risk but if your Fen isnt working you have nothing to lose i guess. Lol

Go to Fen light Tools and Then Settings

Go to Meta Accounts

Under Trakt select Client ID Key

Hit “Cancel” and it will ask Enter Blank Value? Select Yes. Make sure it is blank. If not don’t again.

Then Select Client Secret Key and hit “cancel” and yes to same question.

Then select Restore Default Client ID Key.

After it appears Select Restore Default Client Secret Key

Go down to TMDB API

Select API Key and hit Cancel and select Yes to question.

Select Restore Defailt TMDB API Key. Wait for key to appear

Go back to list of options under Tools

Select Database and Cache Maintenance

Select “Clear AI Data Cache”

After completed Select Clear All Cache (Excluding Favorites). A pop up will show its working.

When finished you can go back and look for movies/tv shows and they should now be back.

I do not guarantee this will work for you but it worked for me. I tested on a saved version of the build that didnt have the fix yet.

Thx for all the suggestions. Looks like my option is going with a clone.

So I was messing around trying to get back to the original FenLite and I stumbled on a version somehow linked to The Red Repo? Any ideas about this and is it a clone? It shows then Addon as FenLite Am ( unofficial).

Read @TROYPOINT post at the top of this page. The original Fen hasnt been updated/active for over a year. Every version of it since then is a clone/fork from the original.

There are a few Repos out there with a version available. Try it and if it works great. There have been a few mentioned here as well and I provided a possible fix for some of the forks due to a API Key issue. Not my fix but from a build developer that has their own version in their repo.

My guess, and only a guess, is all the active versions developers are working on fixing the current issue for their fork. I have no idea on the details that go i to doing this.

Edit 5/11: my kodi’s build updated to version 2.2.05 using dEXEs repo. The build developers own version is no longer available. This version is working for me.

I have updated our guide with instructions for installing and using the new version of Fen Light AM: How to Install Fen Light AM on Kodi (2026 Update)

@TP-Brett Thanks, this is timely. I was having trouble with TRAKT in FenLight AM and I got so ticked (shocking indeed) I deleted it totally. I then tried to reinstall and it flat out would not find the REPO.

Is there supposed to be a “/” at the end of the repo address or not?

Since this is an entirely different REPO, we will still get constant updates for the FENLIGHT AM add on? I’m gonna re-install it right now. Thank you.

You can put an / add the end but it will likely auto-fill that for you if you don’t. It will not get constant updates as the project has been discontinued but our guide shows how to host it locally.

Mine is working and I did not reset my API keys… will that become a update issue?
