Select Settings in kodi then select
Player then make sure you are in Standard, Advanced or Expert mode.
Select Subtitles
Select Enable Parsing for Closed Captions
When watching something if CC does not appear click select button while watching and scroll over to the right. The second to last icon is âsubtitlesâ. Make sure Enable subtitles is enabled.
Below that see the âSubtitleâ and if there are more than one available select a diffent one. Ex: if it says âunknown 1/2â select âunknown 2/2â.
If subtitles say âNoneâ then i dont think its available.
Working pretty well for me.
As far a the movies, i think its a crap shoot if the movie has Subs embedded. But Iâll have to check this another time.
Ok i found a solution for you.. you will need to do a manual search for your title. The 2 i tested give titles totally unrelated to the movie when selecting Download Subtitles.
These are the steps i took to get the Subtitles for movies.
Kodi Settings
Select Addons
Select All Repositories
Select Subtitles
Select Open Subtitles.com (NOT .org)
Select install
Go back to DreamTV
Select a movie
While playing select Subtitles and Download Subtitles
Most likely the titles shown are not the movie you are trying to watch. If they are you can select and watch the movie. OtherwiseâŚ
Select Manual Search String
Enter the title of movie
ĂĂBe specific or give enough in title to distinguish from other similar titles.
You should have results for the movie you are watching.
Select a link and enjoy. Find a working link if needed.
Hope this helps.
There may be better or easier ways but this is what i found to work so i stopped. Lol
A thank you to @Miki for sending me on the right path.
I utilized subtitles to convert a movie from Spanish to English, but was unsuccessful. Could you provide further instructions at your earliest convenience?
@Peteywhwat1, have you been successful getting subtitles, recently, from any other Spanish movies? Or are you having trouble with just this one movie in particular?
Did you follow JPM69âs instructions, as listed above, to set up subtitles?
Oh, and you are turning on the subtitles option? If not then, start the movie, hit the OK button, tab right (at the bottom of the screen) to the second option from the end (just before the cog symbol), open that and turn on subtitles.
I just remembered that you were wanting subtitles on the Dream TV addon. I just tested and Iâm not able to get subtitles at all for this addon. I did not try setting anything up per JPM69âs instructions. So that is what needs to be done to get the subtitles. Otherwise I do get subtitles on my other addons.
I only tried to get subs/cc in english from english speech. I never tried to find a way to convert spanish language to English subtitles. Which i think is what @Peteywhwat1 is trying to do.
I was trying to watch a baseball game but the link descriptions are from yesterday. The links work but the games dont match the link and have yesterdayâs date.
I tried to clear the cache but no luck. I tried different servers but no luck either.
Try that app Troy mentioned a few days ago. I think it was FCT or FCV? It is a clone for some other sports app. Anyway I stopped counting on any of these Free Apps a long time ago as Sports are just too important for me. IMO IPTV is the way to go for Live TV. Good luck.
Thanks. I really dont need another sports app. Plenty of options. But if i find the thread i may try it out. Was just wondering how to update the link in dreamtv.
Free live tv and sports on kodi isnt as bad as you probably remember. Heavily watched PPVs or other big events may have different results but i always find a way to see them without big issues.
Recently became a Patron. Now, I canât get that song âThe âInâ Crowdâ out of my head! From the announcement on the Dream TV app, it will cease functioning on Oct 1. Dreammachine is its replacement from TheLab repository.
