Hello everyone. I’ve been a Troy point follower for over a decade and everything I know is because of these forums.
I’ve hit a wall. I got Google Onn ever since fire stick took a crap. Everything was running smoothly including my new IPTV subscription. I had all the normal typical Troy point downloads including VPN and now it seems like everything is blocked. Nothing is receiving Internet signal. Within settings it says I have a signal that is excellent, speed tests are fantastic so I don’t understand. I think maybe I’m being blocked by my ISP? I have the VPN on I try it with the VPN off. I’m a about to buy a much more expensive streaming device and it needs to ask you all first. I even reset the thing to default uninstalled everything and brain power is running thin.
Have you done a complete power cycle? Sounds like the stack has gotten jammed up, not to be to techy, and has a bad record. So unplug everything from power for a few minutes. Tv, Modem/router, and streaming device. Unplug the HDMI cable and wait, 5 minutes is more than enough. Turn the power back on for the modem and wait for it to cycle through to it’s connected and resting state. Then plug your TV back in, and turn it on, plug the HDMI cable back into the TV, usually the eARC port. Plug it back into your streamer, plug the power back in for your streamer and start it up. That should clear the bad stack record and reset your WiFi, and connections.
I just helped a friend set up her 2026 Onn 4K Pro and here’s what we did: 1) go to security settings and disable play protect, 2) go to About and enable developer options on Android Build (7 clicks) 3) only install Downloader off the google PlayStore and get the rest of your needed apps either from the Troypoint App Store or your iptv service’s App Store, if they have branded apps you can use. 4) If you use Projectivy for your homescreen launcher go to either UTube or Tizen Tube first and look for video to properly download Projectivy and activate it onto your google tv O/S. 5) First, disconnect your tv from your Wi-Fi or wired internet connection. Then, if you have a vpn service, download it onto your streaming box and use it. On a personal note, I don’t like Google TV O/S and avoid it whenever I can.
Getting the Projectivy launcher working for your homescreen screen should make things a lot easier. I wouldn’t hate Google TV so much if it was easier to bypass it.
