Google Tv blocking Surfshark?

Hello Everyone!
Is anyone else having this issue?. I have a Hisense Google Tv. Ive been using it with Surfshark no issues, until last week. Youtube, and all other apps open and stay blank. When I turn off Surfshark everything is back to normal.
Any suggestions are much appreciated.

Very strange. Make sure the app is updated, clean all cache, reboot, retry.

It is strange. I forgot to mention that I now live in Canada. Not sure if that would make a difference. Ill do as you mentioned and see. Thank you!

I sometimes have an issue with my vpn and googles Freeplay tv app. But only sometimes.

I hadnā€™t until now.

Often the issue is the kill switch on surfshark. Check that, if on turn it offā€¦once you get everything sorted you can turn the kill switch back on.

Ive cleared cacheā€™s. Stopped kill switch. Etc.
Once I turn surfshark back on, without any special features. Nothing works. Just spins. Youtube even CinemaHD. At this point Im convinced itā€™s Google.
As soon as I turn off surfshark everything works.

Can you split tunnel the vpn so it isnt on for those apps?

Go into settings>>>apps>>>surfshark and hit force stop, reboot (if you havent tried that)

another optionā€¦make sure playstore security is off, uninstall surfshark, download the surfshark app directly from surfshark and sideload and setup and try again. I use surfshark and google tv without issues so im just thinking here that the playstore version might not equal the actual release from surfshark. Google playstore does not allow ad-blockers and surfshark comes with one. Another thing im thinking is dns blocking but we can tackle that later. I recently read that cloudfare is blocking sites more aggresively.

I have had 2 instances where a couple of different IPTV services I had would not connect or work with either Surfshark or Express VPN. I had to use my other VPN service in each instance to get these services to connect and work properly as the IPTV services could not or would not adapt to resolve the VPN conflict and the corrective measures mentioned in this post by others did not work.

Iā€™ve force stopped. Same.
Ill try everything else you guys have suggested.
Thank you:)

In Surfshark settings there is an option to bypass the vpn for certain apps. Google needs to be listed as bypassed here.

Yes, in IPVanish its called Split Tunneling. But in my Nvidia i had to click every app the was related to google for it to work properly. It was probably about 7 or so background apps because there is no ā€œFree TVā€ app listed to split with.

Thank you!
Its working

I have a Samsung and experience the same thing, I just reset the Onn device, reset Surfshark and it goes back to normal. It is cumbersome but it works.

Also try playing with different protocols .
I have a live TV service that doesnā€™t work with wire guard while all my others do for some reason
