Miki, sorry to bother you. I am 72, Like you I started many years ago. But I do not understand the stemio app. I am lost after attempting to load and use stemio several times, I gave up about a year ago. After reading a lot of positive feedback I decided to try it again. I have it loaded on my PC. I have added several Addons loaded. I have Real Debrid. But I do not get any downloads. I can not watch anything. I have torrentio and Orion but i believe Orion may be useless. I have tried to download duck but it does not seem to load. Do you have any tutorials that might help or addon that will supply me with series.

This will get you a bunch of tutorials and vids. Now what I suggest is to open this on say your Tablet while you open Stremio on the device you stream with, then have a notebook and pencil to write down stuff as you get to it. Then this will allow you to pause and backup any vid if you didn’t understand one part.
You may want to focus on the following this one as it’s about the easiest to do.

Geez! I was not willing to pull the trigger on ditching my FireTV too soon, but now it’s looking like maybe it was wise to keep it. Of course, I took TP’s advice sometime ago and disabled Amazon’s ability to update my devices before they closed that door. I know that will be a limited time fix, but at least I’ll have some breathing room until this *&$# gets sorted out.

I disagree, If you can read and follow directions Troy Point walks you through it just like every other installation process he covers. I was a beginner, we all were at “The Beginning”. I don’t know how this stuff works or do I care as long as their are advocates for older people like me, retired and on a Fixed Income. Over the last 5 yrs of streaming, he is responsible for saving me Thousands of $$$. Living in the Country the only option we had was Direct TV or Hughes Net- (What a Joke, they were we dumped them and ate the 1000.00 cost to break the contract.). If there’s a problem, Troy will help you solve it. Thank Troy.

Trust me Troy does not supply all the necessary code entries to enable anyone to dual partition a SSD for use on an android streamer. Yes Troy gives instructions and code for what he’s providing a tutorial about, but that is a very small, and I mean small, part of what you can do with adb commands. Thus my comment regarding it not being easy. It wasn’t a slight in any way towards Troy. BTW I am 71. Have a buffer free day.

I try to be a responsible netizen but if they are going to start to control hardware I paid for I’ll fight back. I’ll run a cheap Chinese box that is hopefully of malware, connect through my guest account, keep the VPN running and let ‘er rip. DDoS attacks ? Who cares, not me. I’ll just stream and sideload as normal and let companies worry about their sites going down. By acting like fascists they are just contributing to the destruction of the web.
That will spell the death of Google TV. Just as millions bolted from Amazon, so too will folks who don’t like to be repressed and controlled.

Nothing has happened with Google yet. Nobody knows what may happen or when it may happen Until something actually happens it’s all speculation. Downloader is working great on Google devices.

From what I understand Google will only be warning us that it could be malicious app and leave the decision up to us to keep using the app and not just cut us off like fire stick is doing to people

That is also my understanding, however the process may require multiple steps to accomplish leaving the app alone. For now it’s a matter of just turning off play protect. We will have to wait until this officially happens and then someone will post the instructions. Until then no sense in worrying about it.

Exactly…I’m gonna keep using my Google Onn plus box and only worry iffff something happens with Google . I’m thinking Google won’t do that to us like Amazon did with the fire stick as they would lose out Big time .But like you said only Worry when it starts happening and then too we will figure out a way around it lol with Troys help ..

It has already started. I’ve been shut down on on firstick.deleted ottrun and smarter pro .downloaded again .user same username and password. Changed url.and. running again. Not sure how long.onn 4k pro has been hit smarters pro still working and ottrun down.they have 2 different urls.the google streamer is down also..
I have had 4 different people that have there firesticks onnpro and google streamer hit up in Alberta canada.had to delete starters pro and ottrun reprogram with different urls.all going again, but not sure how long .will keep you posted
For your google devices don’t forget to disable “scan apps with Play Protect” and that will also disable tha “improve harmful app detection” as well. This is for google devices only not Amazon Fire TV devices.

Amazon just disabled Cinema and Film plus from my mother’s firestick. I haven’t been home to check my TV yet but is there any wayto block this from happening? Vpn? Or is inevitable that I will need to switch to a Google or android box. And if I do need to switch can someone give me any insight as to if I will still be a ble to sideboard the same streaming APKs
