Firestick storage

I am a bit confused… I have a firestick 4k max with a 64meg SSD card attached… I have as many of the app sideloaded as possible. I still get a notice that the memory is full and I need to delete some apps to continue… Please advise.

Have you put the apps onto the external storage or are they installed onto the Stick? Don’t forget even though you may have sideloaded the apps onto the SSD some of it’s Data is still kept on the stick in order for it to run those apps. I always kept the number of added apps to a minimum. I do recommend keeping important apps like your VPN on the stick though.

I used a FS for years and just recently traded it for a Google Box. Prior to that I never had an issue with storage. What takes up so much storage on your FS? You can always use an external hard drive if you need extra space. I would suggest even deleting some of what you have stored b/c it can interfere with streaming. Just a suggestion. Good luck to you!

thanks alot force of habit I get to trying out different apps and forget to delete the ones I don’t use

Hey guys i got a head scratcher here. I’ve had this firestick 4K for two months now and had no problems at all. Only thing i have on my kodi is mad titan sports. As far as the fire stick i have Tubi, Frevee, IP vanish, sports fire and F+. For two months I’ve never had a storeage issue. It stayed half full and everything was fine. All of a sudden my internal storeage is maxed out…completely. ive added nothing to it. Ive kept my cache clear every couple of days and its been great. The past two days it keeps popping up that my internal storeage is full. And when it shows what full its my kodi with 3565 MB. I dont understand. Nothings changed from my end so why am i getting this outrageous number and why can’t i get it to go away?

Yes, this does happen but rarely as quickly as yours. Endless Amazon updates and junk apps (look at your “Applications” setting to see what I mean - betcha didn’t know they’d installed all those new apps on your stick)?! Not sure why most of the memory usage is being attributed to Kodi, though.
The only solution for me was a factory reset every 6 months or give up and buy a 4kMax with 16Gb storage.

Thanks forbthe help. Much appreciated

Watch Troy’s vid and tutorial linked at the start of this thread. Use a kodi cleaner. That will help with the junk that Kodi adds on a daily basis. I forget which one I used but you can search around here to find one. Now the cleaner I used also had a setting for low storage devices like the Firestick. You can also look to supercharge the stick by adding a powered hub and added storage. If you are recording then adding external storage will help keep the internal memory cleaner.

Thanks for the tip. I’ll look into to it today
