This Fire TV Stick 4K Select Review will tell you everything you need to know about this device so you can be informed before making a purchase. Amazon has officially released the new Fire TV Stick 4K Select and we detail the good, the bad, and everything in between in our guide below. After years…

I have no desire to learn this new architecture or even discover it’s possibility. After being a huge advocate of the FireOS devices and spending many hours using them as well as teaching others how to, I have completely moved away from Amazon devices entirely. I am simply baffled by the attitude of Amazon, the blatantly false claims of speed and ease of use of the new Vega OS, as commented on by those who have actually tried one. 1GB of RAM ??? Are we taking a step back to the first streaming devices to be made? What’s next? Maybe a new commodore 64? Wouldn’t surprise me if Amazon tried that and claimed a successful launch. :face_with_peeking_eye: RIP Amazon. You were my first love. Heavy sigh. I need a hug.

You never forget your first love ………….:smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

For a company that already makes devices that are well below industry standards as far as specs, having a crap OS and app store to begin with, now making a device with even worse specs AND a locked down OS, they truly don’t listen to what the consumers want.

If they had been smart, they would have had a real player in the industry private label/emboss devices for them. The cube was and is a stupid design, and they truly offer no premium devices.

They obviously don’t know or understand that all of their consumers are not retired 80-somethings, that just want to be able to watch the old Matlock, Murder She Wrote, and the Price is Right.

Every electronic device they offer is pure crap. Streaming devices = crap. Tablets = crap. Security cameras = crap.

Bezos needs to hire someone away from Samsung, LG, or TCL, and someone from Nvidia, MeCool, Formuler, etc. The market for mid to premium devices is there, they just miss the mark and don’t care.

I will never be buying another Amazon labeled brand electronic again, unless they remove their heads from their rectal orifices.

onn 4k plus box.only 29 dollars and has and does everything you need to stream whatever you like and does it very well. Screw aZam and firesticks.

While I agree with you, remember, PLUs (people like us) represent a tiny fraction of 0.0001% of their customers. Most of their customers are “retired 80-somethings, that just want to be able to watch the old Matlock, Murder She Wrote, and the Price is Right.” That’s why nVidia, Onn, etc, exist. If Amazon made SOTA products, we’d once again be locked into their proprietary systems and the innovators wouldn’t get of the ground!

While I agree Amazon is missing the mark with their lockdown strategy on their streaming devices I highly doubt their upper level Exec’s (Bezos is gone) even know they have Firesticks, cubes, etc…..Amazon is a Retail Giant and their streaming devices sales are miniscule in the big picture and represent probably less than 1% of their total sales

Streaming device sales are probably quite small potatoes in Amazon’s big picture but the derived subscription services and advertising sales is much more significant. Amazon’s profit (not revenue) for 2024 was roughly $60 billion, almost half of which was subscription services and advertising!

Thanks guys for all the info on the Fire TV Stick 4K Select. I was about to buy one for Christmas but not now. I am interested in The new onn pro 6. It is not available in Ireland or the UK and to have it imported from the US is very expensive. I will just have to wait awhile for it to become available.

@Johnkiernan….read this post by Troy, there is info about Thompson boxes, similar to the Onn, available in your region….

Thomson streaming box plus 270 is the same as the ONN.
