Live TV you canât but you may be able to minimize the appearance some.
I didnât even know there was anu Die Hart movie. It is pretty funny though.
During play of video, press your enter button, video stops, press up to Captions & audio track, press enter, under Captions pres âOffâ then back out. That should do it
Doesnât work on the app. I did reach out to Roku CS for this very reason, and they had no solution.
This is on Live TV
However, for VOD stuff what you post is correct.
Uninstall, reboot your device and reinstall. Good luck

I just went into settings, found the âcaptionsâ and set everything to none. No cc on my live tv.
I checked every setting under caption tried changing colors, size, opacity, etc and nothing worked. I did not see any way to disable CC for live tv viewing.
As you can plainly see the CC is present. I did chat with a Roku rep and he had no solution.
All I did was as I said, go into settings>captions>and on the various choices set them all to ânoneâ. I had cc on all the live chans, now I donât have any. Once my show is done I can go back into Roku and start up a live TV chan and take a pic to show you, if you like.
I did go into settings>caption and went through the entire list of options available. No where is there a way to totally disable CC.
I just now uninstalled and reinstalled. Still no way to turn off CC in âLive TVâ

These are all the settings for CC. You can see what I have checked. In fact, even though I have changed color, size, opacity, etc⌠you can see that it has no affect on what is displayed.
This is for LIVE TV not VOD.
Did youn download the app from the Play Store or did you use a 3rd party? If you used a 3rd party could you post the link.
Is that on every channel? I did get cc on news last night but havenât been on news today. I have been looking at other available live tv channels and none of them have the cc.
I did install the Roku Channel from the playstore.

I have uninstalled the app earlier so reinstalling now
Iâm checking now. So far CC on most but not all Live channels I have checked. I think if the stream Roku is scraping has CC embedded. Then that is what you will get and cannot remove. Same as an IPTV channel from a provider that has the Arabic CC going and cannot remove it. Itâs in the stream itself.
I noticed some of the 24/7 channels do that.

Can you do a pic of the setting where you were able to disable CC
I just now checked the channels you showed. NFL No CC, Fox Weather Yes CC, Cheddar News Yes CC. Donât know what your 4th one was.
