Don't Use VPN Services

I used to get that anytime with clean web on. I found with it off less blocking

Yes they do allow.
And I also am using smarters pro.
I am just as confused. I still run it and using monitor dot. Use firecube as well.
So ya i am lost

I dont have issues, just a little buffering awhile back and was chatting with them what i use then they told me they dont support it. I am confused.

Ok. Will double check that. As my iptv provider said when i told him i had surfshark he was going to adjust so not sure what that meant.

Some of what is said in this article may be true for some VPN providers.
BUT NOT ALL.
VPN providers can log customers and they can lie about it.
And if they are put under too much government pressure they can give the government what it wants.
This is why you should be careful of what VPN provider you chose.
Suggestion #1 DO not use free VPNS. If you are not paying them then Who IS?
Suggestion #2 Do not use VPNs from big public companies.
Some small VPN and or anonymous mail companies have actually ā€œfallen on their swordsā€ (gone out of business) rather than give up their customers to various governments. A big publicly owned company will ALWAYS yield to government pressure, Their managers have a fiduciary obligation to their shareholders to do so.
Suggestion #3 Do not use a VPN provider based in the united states.
The US has a long record of successfully squeezing ISPs and VPNs.
BUT they can only do this to US based companies.
Bad example: Norton Lifelock - known to silently disable customers VPNs when their computer thinks they might be doing something ā€œbadā€. Known to inform on their customers.
Good Example: Proton Mail / Proton VPN:
A. Based in Switzerland one of the more privacy respecting countries
B. Started and run by a group of computer scientists who Have sworn to fall on their swords rather than rat out their clients. Supporting and supported by several internet privacy groups.

So, you are saying to stay away from,

Nord
Surfshark
IPVanish
Express
etc…

I don’t know the specifics behind each of these providers.
I have used IPVanish and found them satisfactory.
I originally used Strong VPN and left them after they silently dumped me out of VPN a couple of times in the middle of a transfer.
I am saying that the larger and more commercial a VPN provider is the more susceptible they are to intimidation by hostile government and commercial entities.
As the original poster stated it is difficult to predict the current or future actions of any provider.
I believe that there are organizations that claim to monitor the behavior of VPN providers if you can trust them.
Perhaps in the future a good choice for a VPN provider would be one who carries the seals of approval of several such organizations one or two of which you trust.

Until individuals like us start getting busted for ā€œnefariousā€ streaming I don’t understand all the paranoia here. Sure you read about the service providers getting raided daily but but show
Me the stories of ā€œJoe Streamerā€ getting busted while sitting on his couch drinking beer, eating popcorn and watching a streamed episode of Yellowstone in KODI

I just don’t wish to be the first ā€œJoe Streamerā€ to get busted.

Btw, who just got sentenced to 7 months in jail for posting a meme about Hillary? …hmm?

LOL of course. That’s what all the Nervous Nellies here are thinking. But the fact of the matter is they are not going after us and until they do on a regular basis I refuse to give in to the widespread paranoia. Like I still haven’t found the Malware in my Cheap China boxes and not using a VPN has not harmed me. If and when the time comes I’ll take action if needed security wise but where are all the Busted ā€œJoe Streamers?ā€

Do as you will, but what kind of cigarettes you want me to smuggle into jail on visiting day? lol

What I don’t understand is why not use a vpn? Unless your ip only delivers 50Mbps speed.

It’s like Pascal’s wager. Your choice…choose wisely.

Yeah, what I don’t understand is why should I use a VPN? Your comment on going to jail I know is tongue and cheek but you do realize there are people on this forum worried they might goal to jail for stealing a Walking dead feed. That is just not happening anywhere. I’m not concerned with any boogeyman or tracking and until I see widespread issues of individuals (not service providers) having issues with streaming I see no reason why? Sorry I’m not a blind sheep following the herd. And I’ve been doing this for over 6 years and still haven’t found the FBI bugs, Malware, or my Neighbor stealing my wifi

Thinking

LOL WTF does Pascal’s Wager have to do with this? I think you meant to reference some other ridiculous saying not the belief in God

anyway carry on

It’s a philosophy, junior. Try to understand what the theory means in practice.

I’m done with this silly banter. I don’t really give a flyin ratz azz whether you run a vpn or not.

Btw, I am glad you Google it. You may learn something from it.

Now run along and go bother someone else.

Okey Dokey moving on

All was good and well two weeks ago when suddenly 80% of my web traffic is being blocked by SurfShark and I can’t find a way around this unless I disable Surfshark.
Heck, they even block :point_right:t2:Troypoint and 20 other sites I have on bypass???.

I followed SurfSharks advice and used their IP addresses supplied to me to get around this and nothings changed. I haven’t a clue as to what settings I can alter to stop this and it’s not my windows firewall.
When I disable SurfShark I gain access to these websites.

Never had these issues with IPVanish.

Yeah unless you work for big Brother lol

:pizza::pizza::pizza::pizza::-1::-1::-1::-1:

Yes not expecting to get support here because most are brainwashed to use a VPN because everyone else does. But I’ve had no issues without one for many years
