Change that Splenda chemical nightmare packet with Stevia in the Raw packet, it sweetens better, tastes better, and it’s better for you. You’re welcome

I now use 2 scoops Naturebell organic mushroom coffee 1 scoop instant coffee a Stevia packet and a half scoop of raw Cacao with a splash of half & half. Delicious!

I bought the Death Wish at Costco today in honor of your post. It has the * on the price tag so it looks like it won’t be back. It was $17.99 for Death Wish or $14.99 for Peets Major Dickason and the Peets says it’s on sale all month so I can grab one of those in a few weeks.

Thats awesome @GraceWilson! The one you bought should be smoother and pack more of a punch than the “Dark Roast” I have. My assumption was, the lighter the roast the higher the caffiene, since the more you cook the beans the more caffiene is cooked away also. BUT upon further research (since i read that back in the day several years ago), it has been revealed to me that:
I should Stop choosing coffee based on caffeine myths.
The caffeine difference between light and dark roast is minimal
Roast level affects flavor, not energy
Grind size and grinder quality matter more than bean color (as you have stated in a previous post - thanks!)
AND I should Choose a roast based on what I love:
Light roast for bright acidity and clarity (grind finer)
Dark roast for bold body and richness (grind coarser)
So therefore, based on these pseudo-scientific facts, I will start using a MEDIUM roast which should encompass some of the qualities of both!

I like darker roasts better than lighter roasts but not FRENCH ROAST dark which smells like a forest fire. This was the only Death Wish they had and I had to try it. It’ll be a week or so before my grinder bin needs a refill but I will report back in.

That must explain why I really like the SF Bay French Roast. I was a USFS Fire Fighter for 10 years. I saw a YT vid on coffees and the SF Bay French Roast was panned stating that it was over-roasted. I grind it to a fine powder and it works for me. As they say “no accounting for taste”

Now I know this is a COFFEE thread, BUT, coffee and cake can go together, as well as coffee and pancakes, and most of us LIKE CAKE, sooooo just FYI….Pancake Day, also known as Shrove Tuesday or Mardi Gras, is the day before Ash Wednesday and marks the end of the pre-Lenten season. It is observed by Christians worldwide as a time to confess sins, use up rich ingredients like eggs, milk, and butter before the fasting period of Lent, and enjoy pancakes.
