Here’s an info guide for X-plore
Thanks for that information
Thanks Powerfader. I set configuration to “normal” and it went away. Something I don’t have to worry about anymore. Still no “picker” and can’t create a Tivimate folder in Xplore. Seems I’m not the only one. Could have a bad flash drive? Think I have a small 16 gb drive in the drawer…maybe I’ll try that one. Thanks for the help. At least I’ve learned something.
I don’t know if this will help, but in my reading of these posts I came across a person who had similar issues and discovered his USB drive was not properly seated in his device. So, try ejecting the flash drive and reinsert it. …it’s a shot?
I found the referenced post.
“Figured it out. Embarrassed to say that I did not have the 2nd USB fully engaged into the slot. But now have a new problem…my 128 gb USB in the first slot is too wide to allow the 2nd USB to full engage in the second slot. They certainly could have put another 1/4” between the 2 USB slots to avoid that issue."
Thanks for the reminder. I did read that paragraph in my search. Ejecting the drive and reinserting didn’t change anything. I’m wondering now if maybe it has something to do with Mecool? You guys with your Shields have the “picker” and perhaps those of us missing it have Mecools? Just throwing that out there.
I read somewhere in redditt that some folks needed to insert the drive all the way in and then back it out slightly. Something about corrupted contacts.
I saw that as well. Ya never know.
I think you may be on to something. Did a fresh install of BlueStacks 5 with 4.7.0. and got system picker. Uninstalled/reinstalled Tivimate 4.7.0 on my KM6 Deluxe and did not get the system picker option.
Its not a big deal to me. At 64 Gb, the Mecool ha plenty of internal storage for recording.
The mecool has 64 GB of internal storage memory?
Hmmm…assume you have the 6 deluxe…? When I have a couple of miutes I’ll transfer the Tivi player on my 6 (updated version that doesn’t show picker) onto my BlueStacks 5 on my puter & see if I can verify your findings
@AJS1 Yes…32 or 64 are the options on the KM6 Deluxe…don’t know about other models…
I’ll try that too PF, but since Xplore and Tivi see it, that seems unlikely. But at this point anything is worth a try.
I have the KM1 Deluxe with 32 gb and that’s plenty of internal storage for me too. But it’s so convenient to stick a flash drive in the side of the device…you’d expect it to work. I kind of wanted it particularly to store backups, but storing backups in internal storage doesn’t put much of a dent in it. Will be interesting to see what Pangeatech’s experiment yields.
For some reason, my downloaded Tivimate app won’t open in my BlueStacks 5…never had a copy there before so there might be some tricks of the trade I’m not aware of…? But…I did try the same procedure on my ONN box Tivimate & still couldn’t find a System Picker. They do have a couple of things in common…both use android 10 & both are google certified (altho, I doubt that would come into play).
Android TV 10 perhaps is the culprit? The Shield uses Android TV 11 I believe. Don’t have a OTG cable for my FireSticks so can’t see if system picker shows up there.
Edit/Update: I don’t have an OTG cable on the FS, but I just checked and system picker DOES show up there.
Perhaps the Tivimate developers opted to please Amazon and the Firesticks? Or the Shielders? Not paying attention to all of us that use android TV 10 boxes? I think Ron or Powerfader or Miki mentioned they were in contact with the Tivimate developers (or was that another app?). Maybe they can put in a query?
I just got a shield Pro and it only has 16 gb.?
After almost 2 years of my 64G KM6 storage…a 16G would’ve been sufficient…I still have 52G left. Don’t want to call it wasted storage space…but I know I’ll never use more than probably 25% of it.
yep, 16/32 is all good. You only need more storage if you record. My Km2’s only have 8 and never needed more for what they are used for with the main app Tivimate.
Roger that…guess I need to hunt for some mega apps so I get my money’s worth
It’s like that Bottle of 1952 Chateau Laffite you have locked in the basement. It’s nice to know you have it, but don’t know if an occasion will present itself where you’d ever use it.
I think I’ll contact the Tivimate developers and explain that it doesn’t seem like Android TV 10 works with System Picker.
